Agreed. We demonstrated that in the last series. STL is in a MUST win because Young has been nails for the Pads. Arguably he's the reason the Pads are contending along with Trevor and key hitting.

It will be Lidge before Qualls.

EDIT: Miller is nailz... glad he'll be pitching for us again next year.

Howard was a bit too anxious. Miller got him way out ahead on that swing.

Another nice job by Trever. Now we see if Gas Can Lidge can hold on to a one run lead.

You know you're in a pennant race when you use 22 guys on your roster and you're still in the 7th.

Time to play add-on... top of the lineup up again this inning, against whatever's left in the Phillies bullpen (probably madsen).

EDIT: Willy should bunt against the lefty, and Morgan should be ready to rake lefties. Manuel's gonna leave him in for Berkman... make him pay for that decision.

The other night Rick Sutcliff mentioned that Lidge has added a cut fastball to his reportoire. For those that have been able to see him regularly, how effect is this pitch for him and how does Lidge look generally?

You should know better then to quote ESPN talking heads, who just get thier info second-hand from the Chronicle, who always are at least 3 days late reporting their stuff.

Anywyas, to make long story short... Lidge is throwing nothing but the 4 seamer over the last week. He's throwing it very well, however, at 97-100 mph, so its much harder to get on top of it.

    Hey guys,

Here's a score that has no effect, but hey maybe poetic justice.

    Indians 14, ChiSux 1. :D
