If it was a good throw, it's automatic, provided Munson doesn't drop it. An average throw... I think gets the out, but it's iffy. I'm just personally amazed how Springer managed to overthrow Munson by a few feet when he was standing five feet away. That takes skill.
Down to 9 outs. Come on bats, get some late inning hits like you did yesterday. Winning the series is nice but a sweep would be SWEET!
it's his first start, give him a break. and that rookie league team is still 1st place in their division, that's something at least.
I really don't understand why Albers was starting today. It should have been Sampson and they should have sent Albers down. Guy gets called up and pitches a one-hitter and then doesn't get another chance. Sounds like a Jeff Van Gundy move to me.
A sweep would have been awesome, but a series win is almost equally important. If they can win the series against the D'Backs, which they SHOULD considering whose pitching, they'll be 4-2 on the road trip and that is positive.
I posted this like a million times and no one reponded to it..so I am going to respond to your post..Thanks Aceshigh7...your exactly right...Sampson pitched a 1- hitter and was sent back now hes with the club and for what ? Aalbers just isn't ready and at least Sampson showed us a 1- hitter...I just don't get it...Man don'y you guys work I missed posting today...
The Astros just can't beat rookie pitchers...They own us. Now put some All-Stars in there like Woody and Peavy and we win...Just don't get it
Sampson didn't pitch a 1-hitter - he pitched a 7 inning 3 hitter. Albers pitched a 5 inning 2-hitter in his last outing, so he was just as ready. Sampson had a 3-hitter, but he also had a 2-inning 3-run performance and a 5 inning, 3 run performance. It's not like Sampson had been any more impressive in his brief stint in the majors than Albers.
yeah, but considering bochy ran his 12 year old son out there on the team... i don't know if 2 out of 3's so good
