If Astros are patient, they should rock Kaz Isuhi since he walks more people than anyone in the league.

Carlos better be weary at 1st base. Clemens won't hit you at the plate b/c he'll get thrown out of the game.... but he might let a pick-off throw find your way. :D

Lady luck not working so far for the Stros... Biggio and Ensberg just missed HR's (that would have been off the railroad tracks in Houston), and Ishii somehow threw out Ausmus (from his knees) on Brad's nice bunt attempt.

Didn't FSN have pitch speed somewhere on the scoreline before?

Brad looked safe, it was atleast a "tie goes to the runner" situation.

I thought that ball Ensberg hit was gone.

They normally do... but if they don't, its the ballpark's fault, not FSN's... as they normally just plug it into the ballpark radar gun.

Man... Willy gets to 3rd base on nothing but a walk and a sac bunt from your pitcher... the Astros haven't been able to utilize this aspect of the game in a good number of years (frankly, none of MLB has)... its fun to watch.

EDIT: Everett strands him... its up to Bidge.

    Ugh.

We had a man on 3rd with one out. Clemens the only guy who could make contact. SAD. :(

Oh well, I feel like we will eventually break this one open.

He did... the best pitch he hacked at broke his bat! :D

Honestly, I would have been happy with the squeeze there... I know its not smart this early on to play small ball, but we'd played small the entire inning, and Everett certainly isn't going to hit a HR in this ballpark.. and w/ Clemens on the mound, any lead is a good one.

Man.... is the umpiring awful this year, or what?

I don't remember seeing this many blown strike 3 calls all of last year... and I've already seen at least 5 within this first 10 games. Also, the umps are missing them both ways... calling balls that should be strikes, and strikes that should be balls.

Its freaking frustrating... I'd rather take questac than this horsecrap.

I'm watching the game on the Mets feed. The announcers were not pleased that Beltran bunted...nice use of $110 million...

Considering that Beltran makes about $20,000 per AB (assuming he plays every game, and gets at least 5 AB's per game).... I'd be pretty pissed as well.

You NEVER want your #3 hitter trying to bunt, unless its a game-winning squeeze or something. Now, Beltran is a unique talent that is very versatile... but if he's going to be attempting bunts every now and then, he shouldn't be batting 3rd.

Actually, I remember him struggling quite a bit when the Astros put him there... like he doesn't know whether or not to become a HR hitter, or a high OBP guy. That's why #2 worked out so well.. you can pretty much do anything there, and you'll be fine.

Wow. I didn't know Taveras had that power. That would have been crawford boxes for sure. Shame in Shea it's just an easy out :(
