I hope the Astros can still win this game but it sucks when bad umps drag a game down and effect the outcome. As many have said in the thread MLB should be embarrassed how bad their umps are.
This is also the home plate umpires’ first MLB game…. I’m sure he would have liked more help than what his union is currently giving him. Now he’ll get reprimanded by MLB for that blown call and may not get another assignment for a few. I’m sure secretly MLB is just letting them make these egregious mistakes and making them look awful…. And the union will acquiesce their long-standing beef of letting technology assist them without fear of their jobs being taken away…
It's been a minute since Abreu gave up a lead, so I'm not going to get worked up about it. But that pitch on 0-2 smh. Why.
Seems like every time Abreu loses it, it's after he gets in a good count. 0-2 and then he starts throwing junk. Either non-competitive balls or meatballs down the middle.
Foul ball just hit the catcher’s crotch and he doubled over… home plate umpire needs to check with the other umps to make sure.
He had multiple bad 0-2 pitches that inning. Poor mechanics/execution. He’s either rusty this year or overused… but the latter apparently favors him.
Everything about this situation, this season, and this game says that Pressly should be bad today…. We shall see.
might not be above 0.500 after today. hope i'm wrong but that 7th inning took a lot of air out of the team.
They thought it hit him too and acknowledged they got a break. Talked about how Altuve never loses his cool like that either.
Thanks. NYC teams/media have a better chance of influencing policy than any commotion from a houston team.
Alright… fairly uneventful. Astros have to be able to get one run against this Mets bullpen. Have to.
