There are things I dislike about the city, but overall, yes, the Mariners fanbase definitely deserves it after the long drought. Really wish Felix Hernandez and Kyle Seager (I really don't mind him, unlike his brother) got to experience playoff baseball. I much prefer them to the other 3 teams in the West. Still too early in the season to make any conclusions.
Gonzales allowed 6 runs in his 1st start. Of course he would shutout the Astros. *hopefully that's a jinx on him lol
Other than that 13 run outburst last Friday, this offense has not been all that impressive. A bore-fest.
Meh Odorizzi is performing how I’d expect a number 4/5 starter to perform. The offense is the bigger concern to me
Jake starts should be the games the players are given the day off! If only we had a young pitcher with his own invisiball instead of the piñata that is Jake. Bats have to wake up at some point.
This offense is just impossible to watch rn. Idgaf that it's early and blah blah. They aren't doing anything, not even making hard contact most games. Geezus it's not spring training anymore. Enough with the ****ing excuses. Go ****ing hit. ****!
His attitude/demeanor annoys TF out of me too. He clearly thinks he’s better than he is too which just annoys me. Him throwing that temper tantrum in public last year after being pulled was infuriating.
Odorizzi isn't even good at anything. He's so predictable. I'm not saying this as someone who has been spoiled by elite pitching, it's just the truth. Doesn't have elite velo. Doesn't consistently have control or command. The pitches don't have particularly good break, or anything. He's just below average at everything (see Baseball Savant), and even if he's on it the first two times through the order, he always craps the bed the third time through.
And to be a starter you have to show you can at least start to get outs the third time through the order. Odorizzi can never do that, even if he's having one of his better games.
And Odorizzi just got his first semi monthly paycheck today of over $800,000. That’s almost criminal.
This is shaping up to be a game where we see Baez in at the end just to get the last few outs because it's THAT bad.
Man Seattle can suck it. So many bitter Seattle fans. Not our fault its been 2 decades since they made a postseason.
