    It was a pretty sweet contraption that I hadn't seen before. The facemask was attached to the helmet on each side with 2 spring-assisted bolts to absorb and cushion any impact. It also looked like it had a ton of padding in the helmet part.

    It was silver and matched his chest protector, doesn't look like he's wearing it today. Tried to find a pic, but alas....

    eta: and yes, his Ranger funk wore off pretty quickly for me

    Has White always spit constantly when he's at the plate?

    Some people adjust their gloves or whatever, he just spits about 4 times b/t each pitch.

    can't we just tell our young arms to pitch like verlander and be done with it? if they all pitched like verlander i bet they'd be a lot better.
