That is the stuff I am talking about with swinging at the first pitch. Bailing out a pitcher who isn't throwing a ton of strikes with bad hacks is not a good recipe for success (Looking at Tucker and Gattis).
Every hitter in that inning had a good at bat except Tucker and Gattis, swinging at first pitches, sinkers first at bat. I am getting so tired of Gattis
Getting tired of Gattis failing in big situations. He had the most important ABs in big spots during this recent bad stretch and has failed every time. He's not cutting at this point.
Do they give these guys the green light? I mean I get it they want to break off this slump but what happened to the fundamental baseball?
Good thing Ruiz, and Folty not playing well for the Braves or I would be super pissed at the gattis trade. dont make no sense. Gattis was overrated with the Braves. His career OBP is .300. What a joke
Qualls and Feldman returning to form (if not better) after their injuries is a real underrated and overlooked turn of events. When Springer comes back, this team will be miles better than they were to start the season (on paper).
Those are the first pitches that you want to be swinging at. Grooved in the middle of the plate, just missed it unfortunately.
Maybe Folty as a closer would be lights out with us, like Osuna is with Toronto, but agree, those 2 are playing so bad that makes the trade even, so far. Gattis is the biggest disappointment on our team this year, with CC.
