The 1975 Astros had the worst winning % ever by this franchise at .398%. Right now we are at .342%.

    We're going for history fellas.

Bull**** strike 3 call for Matsui. Not that he's earned the benefit of the doubt, but awful nonetheless.

It looked like he went around from what I saw but I only caught the end of the replay.

So Bourn leads the league in outfield assists and has had up to 2 more than got robbed from him.

He got 100% robbed against Arizona. He and Q clearly got Reynolds at home plate but the ump blew it.

Tonight, there was a close call but it looked like they may have gotten him. I only saw the end of the replay but I assume it was Bourn that made the throw.

Regardless, Bourn leading the leauge in stolen bases and outfield assists is pretty cool.

    Well, Lee is clutch tonight.

How bout that? The Astros have made up the 3-run deficit. All 3 RBI by Lee.

Pedro Feliz has more walks than Pence this season.

What happened to that improved plate discipline that Pence showed early last season?

I remember reading an article during that time that said that Pence was getting lucky despite the great start. He was getting into 0-2 counts well above league average but was still managing to be highly productive. Over the second half of last season and early this season, he's come down to earth.

This team collectively tops more balls into weak grounders than any team I can ever remember seeing. Even our power hitters are doing it.

Unreal... Matsui continues to swing the bat so softly that even he hits the ball squarely, it's not going to make it out of the infield. Even if he hits the ball to a hole, infielders have a good chance to make a play.

Matsui just not very good, put nicely, heh.

I havent been paying attention closely to the stats(batting average, etc) but I like the lineup Mills threw out there yesterday. Kepp at 2nd, Blum as SS.

Baltimore now has the worst record in baseball by a mere half game over the Astros and I think it's safe to say that Baltimore has had a tougher schedule.

I feel good and bad for Mills. It's nice that he's getting a shot to be a manager but it sucks that he was handed a pile of junk to work with.

He sounded pretty depressed in his postgame today compared to other ones I've seen, even during losing streaks. It's only natural though I suppose. He came into the season gung ho about the gig but the novelty is wearing off. It's hard to remain optimisitc when you know there's no hope.

I feel bad for him too. I doubt they keep him around longer than 2 seasons, 3 at most. I would like to see how he could manage a real major league team though...he is a good guy.

Lyles Spins a Gem in the Alamo City

SAN ANTONIO, TX. - Jordan Lyles hurled the first complete game of his professional career Tuesday night in San Antonio, leading the Hooks to a 3-1 win over the Missions to even this series at a game apiece.

The victory allows the Hooks (20-18) to keep pace with first-place Frisco in the Texas League South. Corpus Christi remains one game out.

Lyles (4-2) spotted the Missions a 1-0 lead in the first. He walked Cedric Hunter with two outs and served up a slicing RBI double into the left field corner off the bat of Matt Clark. That was it for the Missions, who would not advance a runner past second the rest of the evening.

The 19-year-old right-hander sprayed four hits and a walk while striking out five. He threw one wild pitch, which allowed Brad Chalk to reach in the eighth after Chalk had struck out swinging. Lyles allowed just one hit from the fourth inning on and threw a total of 96 pitches.

Doesn't turn turn 20 until after the season and could argueably be moved up to AAA right now the way he's pitching at Corpus. Could we see him in an Astros uniform in September as a teenager?

Too bad Ross Seaton is struggling so far this year in A+ ball.

After what he said about the manager, following what he did, I wouldn't want him. You don't insult your manager to the media, especially because you refuse to own up to making a mistake.

This team can't score or play defense for the top of the rotation, and the pitchers at the back end are ridiculously inconsistent.
