I have to say, the stinker on Sunday and today aside, that the offense has been boosted quite a bit since Bagwell was named hitting coach.
It would be nice if that is the case. Probably too small of a sample size to make that call. Personally, I don't believe a hitting coach can make that much of a difference at this level. I may be wrong. Mostly a guess. I would think that a pitching coach can exert more influence given the nature of the game. As I type this, Feliz goes yard! That's all you, Baggy!
The guys were saying that Feliz is 5 for 15 against Lilly with 3 bombs. Maybe it would've been a good time to play him at first over Berkman against this lefty. Berkman was 3 for 26.. just saying.
Certainly a reasonable way to look at it. I saw Puma's numbers. Wasn't aware of Feliz'. Puma has looked mighty bad from the right side this season. In reality, his OPS is off from his career numbers equally from both sides of the plate.
Unbelievable... twice today... another extra base... man in scoring position. and another poor tag by Keppinger, who also made a poor throw earlier in the game when trying to turn a DP.
Lee and Keppinger have been miserable defensively over the last 2 games. Pence has struggled for the last 2 weeks.
And he just completed another 0-fer. I've been disgusted with very few Astro players in my life, but he's quickly climbing the list.
i used to defend the guy, saying that his defense wasn't as big of a deal as people made of it. i have come around now, for the most part.
Lyon pitched last night, am guessing he's not available and Lindstrom hasn't pitched in a while Marmol has a filthy slider That's game, here comes a bunt and a base hit
I thought about Lyon but don't you want to save your closer in a tie game? Do we have no other options?
