I agree with this. This may be the first time we've ever been able to say that the Texans were really good at any one major part of the game.

I think Mathis breaks one for a huge 50+ gain or TD (maybe on the opening kickoff). Jones will get 80+ yards and some great special teams play. I expect to see Green run for a TD with a TD to Johnson and/or Owen Daniels.

Chiefs offensive line is not what it was a few yrs ago, who knows how Damon Huard is going to play, and the only real weapon they have is an aging Tony Gonzalez, LJ came into camp late and they ahve pounded him into the ground the last couple yrs and our rush defense is the strength of the defense and should be one of the NFL's best. The KC defense should be weakand we should win this game easily and cover the 3 pt spread.

Seriously? I'm definitely predicting a Cowboys loss to open the season. Eli was looking solid and the Cowboys pass defense is gonna get ripped..

I am ready for some football. As for the game, I think the Texans play well and get the W. 27-14.

I'm with ya, Kerfeld! It's FOOTBALL time again! Man, what a rush! Leroy420, I love ya man you're hilarious! Just got back from Ohio about a month ago and went to Canton to see the Hall of Fame man, that was awesome so much history, pageantry. The gameday experience rocks the house if you get a chance go it's worth the trip! Truly the Mecca, the Jerusalem of Football! But, I digress ... For the first time since this franchise has started, I am truly looking forward to a season of Texans football. Man, we just look like a REAL football team, not some retread WFL/USFL/CFL or worse, popwarner like the first few years. Jacoby has truly got me excited. He's not a track star playing football. He's a football player with natural instincts who happened to run track. No Renaldo here.

We start the year off right ... Texans 34, Chiefs 19. It's time to raise our expectations. A winning season? yeah, I think we can. Got a good potential offensive nucleus, O-Line showing promise. Mario needs to dominate and wreak havoc to help overlaps our secondary's deficiencies IMO.

    Schaub 21-28-306 3TDs
Either Jacoby or Jerome get a runback TD
    Green 15-90
    Dayne 10-55

    Let's go get 'em ... :D

Yep. It's really easy for me to think that the Chief's passing game isn't going to be potent this season. LJ has his work cut out for him this season. Seems to me opponents will be able to afford to stack the line and blitz much more often than usual against the Chiefs.

I'm interested in seeing how efficient the Texans O will be with all the pieces put in place. If they can keep the defense rested, they should win this game hands down. I feel so weird saying/feeling that.

    Texans 28
    Chiefs 13

After cruising some KC boards most polls show that about 30% of the Chiefs fans think they will lose... to me that is amazing..

We are favored for a reason..

    2 PARTS

#1-our starters looked real good in preseason/good offseason/good draft
#2-KC is a mess their O-line is not what it used to be, there is a huge question mark at qb, they have a rookie kicker, LJ might not be 100% ready to go etc. etc.

I never understood what people have against edwards, he was a decent coach in ny and in kc.

It looks like Michael Bennett will get most of the carries against the Texans.

    I'm going to go

    Texans 24
    Chiefs 13

Here's where it becomes real, let's hope Schaub can really do it. I also hope JJ gets some real time. Lastly with all we've invested in the D, lets hope they start living up to expectations.

    I'm psyched!
