HEEELLLLLL YEEEEEAAHHHHHH!!!!! I've been a diehard Browns fan all my life and this looks like the first great draft since our second inception. Oh man what a steal! I couldn't argue w/ getting Thomas because

    1. We've had the worst o-line every year
    2. We've had the nearly the worst rushing every year
    3. As a result of poor o-line and poor rushing = poor passing
    4. 1+2+3 = a bad situation for a rookie qb

I'd rather take a safe pick (since most of the time they've all been busts) and you can't go wrong w/ an OT. We could always use an upgrade at qb, and w/ the moves we've already made in upgrading our o-line, it looks much better this upcoming season. Basically I don't want to spend another year risking a top pick. But getting Quinn like this is perfect. This is the first year I'm really hyped to see my team in action. It's not easy watching your team getting run out of the stadium every week. By game 12 last season I couldn't bear watching them anymore.

Has a team ever drafted both a franchise quarterback and franchise left tackle to protect him in the same round?

I don't know about the Browns' defense, but there offense should be pretty good going into the season. Jamal Lewis, Braylon Edwards, Brady Quinn, and Kellen Winslow? If Quinn can pick up the system, I think he can have a very good year.

Nothing says let's win now better than picking up two rookies.

But it does speak volumes about the decision to take Williams at No. 1 overall.

The only thing that concerns me right now is that the Texans have been expending high draft picks on defensive players who are basically going to need time (read years) to develop. They are doing so at the expense of the offensive side of the ball which the last time I looked, sucked big time. They want to build a dominant defense, good for them but at the end of the day, this team will still have to find a way to put some points on the board. I'm waiting to see just how they plan to go about putting together a team that can do that.

Cleveland will still suck next year in the AFC, and they just blew a future top-10 pick on an overrated QB. Can't believe it, but Jerry Jones just raped the Browns.

    Preseason games don't count, though.

I dunno, but I don't think I'm taking off my Browns t-shirt until Monday.

BTW, I love the random hate comments on our draft. You know if your team made the same move you'd be jumping up and down. I think it's great we basically drafted a top qb a year early. Just a check on some random Cleveland boards and it's pretty cool to see random non-Browns fans chiming in giving us props.

Who can predict the future? Yeah, they might be busts. But Cleveland made the best possible moves. Can't argue w/ that.

    Philly trades 26 to Dallas for 36, 87, 159.

    Maybe Anthony Spencer here.

How? It's not like taking Okoye is a reflection on Williams; they play different positions. Also, the word "project" never really applied to Williams; he had 14.5 sacks his last season in college. He had production.

Is Okoye going to be a starter? He is, I guess, right? How many sacks do you think Williams will get next season?

Rumor is that they might package Griffin for Turner. I'm a Longhorn and a big M. Griffin fan but this isn't a very good pick for the Titans IMO. Even though they might get Mike Williams from Detroit, I thought Meachem would have been the better pick.

Our D-Line should be much improved next season with the addition with Okoye and hopefully an improved Mario. If Okoye can get penetration, it will be very hard for teams to double team Mario like they started doing last season. I like the potential of this D-Line...

Mario-Okoye-Maddox/TJ-Weaver or Mario-Okoye-Weaver-Kalu. While Mario and Okoye are young and inexperienced, both Weaver/Kalu are veteran leaders that can lead this young guys.

I like this pick A LOT.

I am going to buy my first Browns shirt now. If I didn't think wearing a jersey was tacky, I might get a couple of those, as well. They are my 1.6th favorite team!

When Savage was being interviewed he said something like, "this will be considered the point at which we turned this team around ( if we do)." I agree with that, because I'm biased, but people can prejudge this either way, but it was a very bold move.
