    But he's an icon.

Why does baseball reward hanging on so long to get 3000? I guess the quicker he gets there, the quicker he can be out of the lineup.

Other sports don't let guys hang on too long.

    Sincerely,

    Brett Favre

Biggio should be able to do whatever he wants. It's obvious his attention is on us at all times so I say let him be. Just like Bagwell, he's on the DL but deserves to still get paid. Those two guys are like houston baseball saints or something. lol

All I have to say is that Biggio better make sure that every single one of his 3000 hits is accounted for before retiring. I don't know if Astros fans can put up with a 47 year old former icon trying to squeeze out those last few hits again.

This just in, Brett Favre has requested that the Packers fire the entire team and then sign the entire Ohio State football team.

Biggio is hanging on to reach a milestone that would enhance his legacy. Brett Favre is only hurting is. Therefore, one sport is encouraging it while the other isn't.

biggio is in a slump but as a whole on the season he's atleast better then your average baseball player. so in that sense he's not just a washed-up ballplayer hanging on for one more record. his situation is only magnified because he's part of one of the least productive offenses' in baseball that also carries brad ausmus and adam everett.

i think burke should be the everyday starter, but i don't think biggio needs to be forced into retirement. he can still be a producer on some team, just not one that's already extremely light hitting.

Good start tonight, I expect Pettitte to pitch well tonight, and the bats look better so far, Weaver pretty much sucks. But we are in the process of wasting a leadoff double by Scott. This is a must win game.

    2 wasted doubles :(

Aubrey Huff pounds the ball every time he goes up to bat, but either foul or right at somebody.
