"Last year, I was going through some struggles, so I understood why he was doing it," Lidge said. "But this year, after two games, you can't really say that I was going through struggles because there wasn't enough of a sample of time, really." Bwahahaha! Nice. What a bum.
what is the thought process in throwing lidge out there??? why do they insist on putting him in these situations time after time after time???? jesus tapdancing christ! what does it take for a washed up closer to actually lose his job?!? i just dont see the rationale in any of this, and haven't since last year.
I did not mind Lidge coming in with a 4 run lead, Garner was trying to build his confidence, but two walks to start the inning? Make them ****ING earn it...don't give up free bases..... Lidge is done, toast.....send him to the AL, get him out of here before he ruins the confidence of our team. DD
Purpura is calling this... he hasn't done jack with trades (unlike his predecessor) so he's determined that he'll give up on none of his boys... the team deserves better...
Exactly... I have no problem with him working out of it in low pressure situation... but tonight, it was as if ZERO progress had been made at all. Couldn't spot his fastball, and didn't throw the good slider. Then, compounded the situation by throwing it RIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE for the sake of throwing a strike (he's lucky Estrada didn't tie it up).
Well, the good news is he gave us something to b**** about. I mean, we have to have something, right? j/k - Lidge blows donkey balls
If Jennings has a serious elbow problem, then maybe... but he likely doesn't. And the club doesn't miss Willy T (who can barely crack the Rockies lineup) or Taylor Buchholz (who's the 11th man on the bullpen). Its Hirsh for Jennings... the trade can't be evaluated for awhile.
