**** that. If we lose this one, and the Cardinals win, it's still not like we need everything to go perfectly the next two days to stay in it. At this particular moment, we have to win the same number of games they do in order to force them to play San Francisco with all the pressure in the world on their flimsy shoulders. If results hold tonight, we'll need to win one more than them. So? This coffin ain't yet nailed shut, fellas.
What the heck is wrong with you people? The season is not over even if the cards pick up a game tonight, which is still not a guarantee. All the Astros have to do at minimum is get the race to 1/2 game either way by the end of Sunday, and the cards have to play the makeup with SF Monday.
No, I'm sorry, but how can you say that? We have all bought into the strategy that you manage as if it is game 7 of the playoffs. Basically it is win or die, and in game 7 of the World Series with the game on the line, no way do you put in Nieve. No way.
We'd be 2 games back in the loss column. We'd have to win our last two while the Cards would have to lose 2 out of 3. Still not impossible, especially with Sheet going tomorrow. Force the game with the Giants, who knows what happens.
I love how people compare fandom....like it is a badge of courage, or someone is more of a fan than someone else because they view things differently. Everyone is an equal fan IMHO...and we are all dissappointed......some people voice it, others say....we can still come back....but they are all the same level of fan. IMHO. DD
So Houston only sells out Rockets/Astros games when they're good... whereas Chicago sells out most of its team's games, regardless. Yea... those are the same fans.
I've said it the entire time, we needed all 12 to get in. IF St. Louis wins tonight, we're pretty much done. The pressure needed to stay on them. It won't if they win and we lose. Quite depressing.
Trever Miller hasn't been charged with a run since August 13. It'd take a hell of a lot of waterboarding for me to say he's a good pitcher, but he's certainly gotten people out.
