    This ones on you, Phil.

You have three elite talents at reliever, and with the season on the line, you're trying to buy an inning against the heart of the order with Fernando Nieve. Unthinkable stupidity.

Or it was a good set of pitching by McBride... Astros fans have to get better at giving credit to the opposition in baseball.

Then again, Nieve can stop throwing it down the middle to the heart of Atlanta's lineup.

They're not really on the wagon... more like running behind it whenever things start going good, but in the perfect position to stop when things aren't.

I give Garner a pass on this one. Remember the 15 inning game and those same relievers will be needed for long stints in tomorrow's game

The thing that sucks though, is I can think of so many reasons why the Astros should make the playoffs but not a single one why the Cardinals should. Sure this team has holes too, but the Cardinals are backing in and would essentially be 1st round fodder. Per the article on ESPN today, would there be anyone outside of St. Louis that would care to see the Cardinals make it into October over the Astros? Combine that with how things are shaping around the rest of the league, Pedro out, Johnson possibly injured; it seems all signs are pointing for us...and then this night is happening. Well, maybe the Brewers can help us out some more.

-I'm thinkin this might be a little more heartbreaking than the endings we had the past two years. To fight so hard, to have everything going your way...and to come up JUST short in the end (if that happens) and to the Braves no less ( ). Ain't over yet though...and no matter how hard I tried NOT to get my hopes, I did, so this night is definitely deflating. Whatever happens tonight, would be cool if we could come back tomorrow and do the opposite of what's happening tonight, and with a rookie on the mound no less.

You can stay in a lot of games and give your offense a chance in the late innings if you utilize your elite talents at reliever instead of throwing in a young homer prone pitcher with a laser straight fastball with zero movement.

You can also maybe generate more than one run if you can realize that Jason Lane couldn't be an effective hitter against one of us pitching.

We have to pray the Brewers have a miracle left in them.

If the Cards hold on, they would have to lose 3 in a row and we would have to win 2 in arow.
