    Within 2 of WC and 4 of Division by series end. Whiners still persist.

    I'll be positive and realistic.

    WWW. Lidge will get us a couple of saves.

    We will end this series 1 game back in the WC and 3 back in the division.

    June 26, 1988: Craig Biggio makes his MLB debut against the Giants, goes 0-2 & scores a run with a walk & a steal. Stros score 6 runs on 3 singles, 6 walks & 2 errors. Current broadcaster Jimmy D & future franchise player Larry Anderson combine for the shutout.

    This is a portentious omen. I have happy thoughts about tonight's game.

    ASTROS 2ND: Bass walked; Bass stole second [Bass to third (on
    wild pitch by LaCoss)]; Reynolds grounded out (shortstop to
    first); On a bunt Ramirez singled to pitcher [Bass scored];
    Biggio flied to center; Debut game for Craig Biggio;
    Deshaies walked [Ramirez to second]; Young singled to center
    [Ramirez scored, Deshaies to third]; Young stole second; Hatcher
    walked; BOCKUS REPLACED LACOSS (PITCHING); Doran singled to
    center [Deshaies scored, Young scored, Hatcher to third];
    Hatcher was caught stealing home (catcher to second to catcher);
    4 R, 3 H, 0 E, 1 LOB. Giants 0, Astros 5.

    ASTROS 4TH: Ramirez flied to left; Biggio walked; Biggio stole
    second; Deshaies reached on a fielder's choice [Biggio safe at
    second (error by Uribe; assist by Bockus)]; Young walked [Biggio
    to third, Deshaies to second]; Hatcher was hit by a pitch
    [Biggio scored (unearned), Deshaies to third, Young to second];
    GARRELTS REPLACED MITCHELL (PITCHING); SPEIER REPLACED BOCKUS
    (PLAYING 3B); Doran struck out; Davis popped to third; 1 R, 0 H,
    1 E, 3 LOB. Giants 0, Astros 6.

    ASTROS 6TH: Biggio struck out; Deshaies struck out; Young
    grounded out (shortstop to first); 0 R, 0 H, 0 E, 0 LOB. Giants
    0, Astros 6.

    Good lord I had just graduated high school. Also, Biggio has been playing baseball for the Astros longer then the Simpsons have been on the air. Then again when talking age there is that ancient Clemens character who keeps escaping from the retirement home in Katy, TX.

    All I know is I met him when I was 14 which is 16 or 17 years ago. Biggio is a staple in the Astros. He's a career Astro who loves us fans as much as we love him. Biggio and Bagwell should never receive any disrespect from anyone who calls themselves an Astros fan. I hear it all the time and it makes no sense to me.

    Unreal. I know it's one inning, but wow, this team has an incredible ability to take very few runs away from situations where they should easily rack them up. The offense as a whole isn't the problem it was last year, it's just incredible the luck we have in clutch situations. It doesn't even have to be a clutch hit... just anything but the double play that we just cannot avoid.

    What a play by Detroit's 3rd baseman. At least Everett is still hitting the ball well.
