    I know. That’s why I asked him to show his work. I’m truly curious as to why he’d say that. He’s a smart guy and I didn’t detect a hi to of sarcasm. I think he means it which is why I am questioning him, curious about the thought process.

    can you explain the rule? Why did the Stros get punished for them dropping the ball?

    Protects the offense from a DP or even TP by not allowing the defense to let the ball drop on purpose.

    Automatic out because the fielder could let it drop and then throw out the baserunners who didn’t advance. So it’s an automatic out. Runners on 1st and 2nd, less than 2 outs I believe.

    but they did not let it drop on purpose........

    they fugged up and it should have been an error.
