Our pitching has been great so far this season and our bullpen has been carrying us, but if we cant get any runs we arent going to win. We only allowed three runs today against the Cardinals and we didnt win. I figure that we should win 75% of the games in which we limit the opponent to 3 runs or less.
Berkman is in a horrible slump, but I think that he will come out of it and start leading this offense. I have doubts for Lugo though. IMHO, Viz should start over him. I wouldnt be surprised to see Everett called up pretty soon.

Astros are looking great so far, but our bats need to start heating up.

Honestly, I don't know why Vizcaino isn't starting. Adam Everett is by far the worst hitter of the three; I wouldn't expect to see him unless someone gets hurt.

Yeah, the offense is in a slump. Biggio and Berkman are key components of the offense and they arent getting it done right now. It will change, hopefully. Our pitching, on the other hand, has been quite impressive. I like what I see.

I think Viz isn't starting because he is old and there are concerns that he would be able to handle the rigor of starting nearly every day.

Lugo would have been the first person I would have got rid of in the offseason. He can't field and swings too hard for his size. Vizcaino could set up the big innings batting in the #2 spot.

I think Viz should start the first half of the season and when he gets tired (old) Lugo can step in and hopefully find his hitting stroke.
