Let me ask you this: "Do you think TMac is a point forward?"

Who gives a $%#@ if most NBA coaches agree with D'Antoni? The fact of the matter is that style hasn't won anybody a ring. Sure, it is exciting as hell to watch, but those 60+ win seasons go down the drain if the Suns don't win the championship, much less make it to the NBA finals.

I wasted my 1000th post to reply in this pathetic thread.

And please give names and numbers to show who are those "offensers", how many of those "offensers" are in NBA in favor of one dimensional defensive players.
Otherwise I can make another "rough guess" : There are more defenders in NBA than your so-called "offensers". Please prove me wrong.

Shame on you. A 20 years teacher?

You can always say that ONE coach is wrong, but you can't say that most coachs/GMs/NBA professionals are wrong.

Your reasoning is very flawed and shows that you know little about the nba or basketball in general. sorry about that but it's true.

If you did understand, you would realize the difference between TEAM defense and individual players know for their defensive prowess. TEAMS that play great TEAM defense while still having offensive weapons win championships. Ask Greg Popovich or Pat Riley or Phil Jackson about that. This has nothing to do with the quantity of NBA players that are only good defenders. It isn't rocket science...

Uh, make that two coaches and two general managers with virtually opposite demeanors.

No one in this thread has been convinced of any of your "proofs". You can always say that ONE poster is wrong, but you can't say that most BBS posters/fans/stat geeks are wrong.

Shame on you, a 4 year old pre-school student? Even a 4 year old might have better logic thinking than you.

<b>"Most"</b> coachs/GMs/NBA professionals ? You keep making those statments without fact to back them up. Tell me just <b>one</b> coach/GM who openly said "Offense is much more important than Defense". If you can't, then please stop pulling these garbage out of your head.

On the other hand, there are so many coaches/professionals have said publicly on TV: " DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIP."

What makes you so sure coaches/GMs think like you do? If they do, my guess is they'd be kicked out of their job long time ago.

Um I do have a problem with your original argument. If we wanted to see more and more offensers...........why does Phoneix have Marion, Bell and recently hired Skinner for defense purposes? In fact the Suns have traded away offensive players like James Jones who is currently doing just fine in Portland. They signed Bell for defensive purposes as well. Same with Brian Skinner. The only offenser they picked up recently is well, Steve Nash and um that PG/SG hybrid dude (forgot his name) who is sitting on the end of the bench half the time.

Same goes for Memphis, their biggest signing was in fact Darko, they pursued another noted defender in Varejeo and well yeh......they are pursuing defence types in actual fact.

And then Atlanta, another offensive team, drafted Horford for post presence and defence.

Toronto is the only team in the league without a noted defender. Even then their breakout player of the year is Jamario Moon, who gets a steal and a block a game.........

And then all the noted offensors in the league who are good defenders are many. Ill list them now:

    Marion
    KG
    Kobe
T-mac (as we know when he tries)
The whole Detroit team (Rip, Chauncy, Rasheed, Prince)
    Artest
Chris Paul (noted for steals in the lane to be honest)

The only defence types i can think of that don't score are Bowen and um Battier.........Hayes? Like I don't get what your talking about. There is clear evidence of uptempo offences signing defensive type players. Chicago signing Ben Wallace???

Fans are fans. Most BBS posters/fans/geeks can say that blackbird is wrong. It is fine. But Most BBS posters/fans/geeks can't say that most coachs/GMs are wrong. Did you get it?

NO BECAUSE YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO PROOF THAT MOST COACHES/GM'S FEEL THIS WAY. Man, you don't even know D'Antoni's name

Just because you seem to think they do does not mean it is a fact. Understand?

I did give you evidence, but you didn't believe it. What can I do?

    but your evidence is wrong?
Phoneix signed a defensive big man this season and traded away a 3pt gunner..............oh and traded away a more offensively gifted big man

    thats not getting more offensors?

your "evidence" was your incorrect feeling that most coaches/gm's agree with you. that is not evidence, especially when you cannot name 5 coaches that have ever stated that they do feel that way.

You gave me your "rough guess" , which I believe is totally wrong. Otherwise you'd show me the number already.

What can you do? Of course nothing, because you have no real evidence or proof whatsoever to back up your claim, and you know you are wrong after this debate, just not man enough to admit that.

Stop posting would be a good idea for you.

    The answer is:

Defense is very important, but offense is more important than defense.

I asked him to name <b>ONE</b> coach said that, and he couldn't do that.

Your determination to hedge your indefensible (hey look, a real English word!) position is almost admirable, blackbird, but you should pay attention to some age-old advice:

When you find yourself in a hole, you should stop digging.
