I don't care who gets those two. I would have cheered had it been during Bush's terms in office. Just kill bin Laden and his second in command, declare victory, and get the heck out of dodge.

I hope so. I hope he's executed publicly like Saddam. I'd hate for him to die without trace, or for him to be mocked after death.

i remember folks making similar claims back in 2004, 2006, 2008, that the cynical chimpymchitlerburton would drag OBL out of a cave just before the elections...

regardless, i don't care if it's cynical or not, i hope he's found, and summarily executed on live TV w/ a scimitar.

it could happen on November 1, i don't care.

 

Of course you don't care because somehow you would still find a way to credit your beloved Republican party.

 

it's not an issue of who gets the credit, but of catching the guy responsible for the worst atrocity on american soil since 1941.

that's the trouble with the cutsy titles. this one didn't even have a oldies music reference (....and by 'oldies' I mean pre 1990 ).

Gabs: you don't really want a link do you? It was pretty common here and everywhere. Let's not get to the point were every post must be cross referenced, multisourced and footnoted...it's just a discussion...

That has happened every election cycle, particularly the Presidential ones, and will likely keep happening until he is caught or dies.

 

I thought the CIA would cash out years ago.

 

sadly its probably going to be the later. Unfortunately I think he will die of old age.

 

I really don't remember anyone claiming that the Republicans had OBL under wraps so John McCain could win. Maybe 2004. The way Iraq was going in 06 OBL was hardly the issue.

 

I say have a trial in NYC. Give them full rights. Show the world real American justice after the severe stains upon it inflicted by Bush and cronies.

I really don't think they will get less than the death penalty. It might be good for pr purposes to keep them in a super max for life and avoid martyrdom. Do whatever is best for US national security and discreditting Al Qaeda in the long run.
