OK, in preparation for our annual trip to Vegas, we watched a bunch of Vegas set movies the night before we left. Of course, the always fun Ocean's Eleven from a few years ago was on the list. However, we have a question that hasn't been answered. How did the hooker pamphlets get into the vault that Andy Garcia was in?
Right, but how were the bags carried in? When the "SWAT" team arrived, the truck with the pamphlets had already left.
Well, the director and screenwriter both pointed out this hole in the plot on the DVD commentary, so there is no answer...
Damn you people. I'd never thought of that, and now it's going to bother me every time I watch that flick. Great flick to watch before you go to Vegas, though, I will concur.
Every time you watch this movie, you can pick it apart. Like why didn't anyone find all the surveillance equipment in the hotel room? And why did only 1 SWAT team van show up, and no other cops?
Thats easy. Basher (part of the crew), was intercepting the 911 calls. BTW.......Ocean's Twelve is going to be released later this year (same cast + Catherine Zeta Jones and Billy Bob Thornton)
Yes, but why weren't any of the cops in the casino involved? And I'm sure that Bernie Mac was a suspect after all the shady stuff that happened that night. I'm sure he'd like to explain where he got all that money. Not to mention that Clooney is all of a sudden rich. The only way for these guys to escape the police is to hide off on a Pacific Island somewhere. Oh, and how did Clooney coincidentally know that big dude that Garcia told to beat him up?
They synopsis for the 2nd movie probably answers most of that: "Danny Ocean (George Clooney) and his crew, having successfully stolen $150 million Las Vegas casinos in the first film, jet to Europe with three new heists planned, including swiping Rembrandt's Nightwatch from a gallery in Amsterdam. Meanwhile, Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia), the casino mogul whose money Ocean and company made off with, and his hit men are in hot pursuit. " Can't answer your 2nd question. Now quit sucking the fun out of that movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm sure they would have, but that still doesn't help with finding out who put it there. The bigger flaw in the movie is that Las Vegas casino aren't obliged to hold cash to the value of every chip in play.
It's a friggen movie people. And a damn entertaining one at that. If you want every scene in every movie to be perfectly explainable, you're going to lead a rather boring existence. Enjoy it for what it is.
Shouldn't it have been Ocean's 12. The the guy "beating" Clooney up in the casino was obviously in on it and had to get a cut.
That is a really cool site. My wife loves to nitpick stuff like that. That site deserves its own thread IMO.
If they followed Andy Garcia around a lot, you'd think they knew the guy who he habitually called in to "dissuade" certain people unofficially from ever returning to his hotel. I mean, they knew the stripper that one of the computer guys went to to relax. As for the pamphlets, I always figured they came in those big metal boxes like they smuggled the chinese acrobat into the safe with. Perhaps they were smuggled in prior to the heist.
The most overrated movie ever. Just a bunch of stars with and extremely ridiculous plot. Its not bad, just extremely unbelievable to a fault.
Not that I'm opposed to Ocean's Twelve, but if you already stole $150 million, why are you taking chances and stealing more money?
