Timing is important. Need to look at this recovery vs. other recessions we've come out of.

I'm back in the GOP and one of the tea parties. It was fun confusing some of the folks who thought they were Democrats.

    bahaha.

i'm loling at this: the pedantic debate about the strength of the recovery has been the most massive moving of the posts.

In 2008, modern capitalism almost smashed apart due to free market excess. November 2008 saw the largest amount of job loss since 1974. From 2007 to 2009, the unemployment rate nearly doubled.

For somebody who has espoused the absurd view that "history will look kindly on Bush", the fact that you're debating the strength of an economic recovery is enough to tell me that you're not credible. Aside from your simplified boilerplate economic arguments, of course.

you missed the fact that when he started, the United States was sinking like the Titanic and modern capitalism was being questioned like never before (and rightfully so) + two active wars that would form the foundation for disaster (to this day, ISIS leadership is composed of many radicalized prisoners once held in Middle Eastern prisons and many former Saddam-era officials who never accepted their forced discharge.)

But you also missed the fact that this President has been by far one of the most negative influences on the survaillance/drone/privacy/whistleblower front, something that conservative critics who look to end all discussions with Obama negativity tend to miss for whatever reason.

When the people responsible for passing legislation do not want to work with you because their constituents will vote them out......not many bi-partisan bills will pass and be signed.

The economy is fundamentally in even worse shape than it was under Bush.

Our civil liberties are disappearing faster than you can say drone murder.

We have a broken unpopular health care system.

And most recently Obama (with the help of republicans no less) sold the economy out to internationalist oligarchs.

    Pretty much Obama's legacy.

Very broad assertions with no evidence.

LOL at the necks pretending that the ACA is anything other than a spectacular success. It must be especially butthurting knowing that this was literally the last good idea any Republican had. And that was 40 years ago.

Although it's evident that a surprising number of Republicans secretly like butthurt so there must be some upside in there for them somewhere.

Mr. Obama should be remembered most for having a steady hand on the tiller.
Say what you will, you can't deny that his administration has avoided potential disaster. In the context this administration exists in that's pretty good,i.e. a ridiculously hostile Congress and a full out propaganda smear from the Murdoch empire. If he had made any mistakes or real failures it would have been blood in the water. The ACA website, Benghazi, not being able to close Guantanamo, are are just small potatoes. As usual, we don't appreciate how good we have it.

Doubling the premiums of those who were already purchasing it, forcing everyone to buy it or pay a fine just to subsidize pre-existing conditions is not a "spectacular success".
