They are DEFENDING Eastern Conference Champs. Last season they didn't have to face any competition until the Conf Finals, where Detroit took them to 7 games. They then went onto the NBA Finals where they promptly got destroyed by the Spurs. The Spurs and Cavs haven't really improved themselves a great deal (jury is still out on the effect of Big Ben/Szerbiak/West etc. and Thomas and Stoudamire are nice additions for the Spurs) this season over last. Point is the team that whipped the Cavs last season is sitting in the bottom half of the 8 in the West and if by some miracle the Cavs make it to the NBA Finals will get whipped in 4 or 5 games by the West Champs. Book it.
