Why the Nuggets simply waived Omar Cook? They could trade the rights of him for the first round pick.

You know, I always say you should make arguments without bothering to use facts. Good job!

    Simple facts:

    * Nugs tried to trade him for a long time
    * Cook held out, missing the first week or so of camp
    * No team even showed remote interest except New Jersey who was willing to offer only a 2nd round pick
    * We acquired Satterfield from Dallas, so we figured why not let them duke it out in camp and let the best man win

We cut him instead of getting a 2nd round pick. No loss what-so-ever.

Cat Mobley was a second round pick, maybe those things are worth something afterall.

Why would anyone prefer nothing over a 2nd round pick from the Nets?

yah, I thought that it was weird that they gave up a first rounder for him, especially with all the pgs on their roster, and their 2nd best player being a pg. They needed beef imo, not another pg, but at least they didn't use it on a swing man. :)

But every team makes draft mistakes, big whoop.

You know, I always thought Cook had some serious talent, at least passing wise. Not much of a jumper, but the guy could really drive and dish.

I'm a little suprised the Nuggets let him go so early though . . .
