Why Shark is always taking breaks during regular season, only work hard in playoff. Why TMac put a Holly Bible in the locker room. Why people need God to be blessed. But the only thing I do not understand is VG left a positon for Padgett and let that young big guy from Stanford go. According to my observations (personal, you may not agree), that big guys is as good as Pitt's Aron Gray. I know Padgett is a nice guy, but Novak needs more minutes, and now we need a center. We do not expect a guy who is at 40 to keep our team going. Yao, wish you a quick recovery. We do not care about MVP or All Star, all we need is your health and Rocket's future.
So you're saying you'd rather keep Casey Jacobsen? Sorry, but for a labelled "shooter", Jacobsen shoots about as well as an amateur league player playing against the big guns. As sucky as Padgett is, I'd take a proven commodity who comes in and plays hard everyday, no matter that he's outmatched. After all, it's not like he can't shoot. He did pretty well in '04-'05. No idea what happened to him in NJ, but he's a proven guy. I'd take that over a "shooter" with an unorthodox stroke anyday.
Defensively, Scottie the body is a tested commodity. Novak is a good shooter but always gets lost in teh defensive rotation. Now do you see Jeff's position on this?
Not Jacobsen. Haryasz. I thought Matt did look very good in preseason, and I wouldn't doubt it if they bring him in, since he is familiar with the sets..... I totally agree with the fact that bringing in Padgett stunts Novak's development. Why on earth would you keep arguably one of the top 5 shooter's in the league on the bench? Because he's a rookie? Well, he ain't gonna get better on the bench Because his defensive rotations aren't quick enough? see above Because his body can't handle the pounding? see above Did anyone notice how poor the spacing was in the 2nd half last night? HELLO!?... Bring in Stevie, and let him and Shane feed Bonzi in the post, and keep them spotted up wherever the double team comes from. Frustrating.
You stanford big, you mean Haryasz? Ha, you can still have him back anytime you want like that girl we all dated.
Matt Haryasz is currently struggling with the Arkansas Rimrockets in the developmental league, who are in the bottom half of the standings. He is their leading rebounder and blocker, but that's not saying much. http://www.nba.com/dleague/playerfile/matt_haryasz/index.html?nav=page He is currently not playing due to an ankle injury. http://www.nba.com/dleague/games/20061222/LADARK/recap.html
well, this might be right with Yao and Tmac in the lineup, but right now, his purpose SHOULD be "developing a rookie with gaping deficiencies in his game"
Novak, in my humble opinion, gives us more than Padgett. Jeff's whole defensive system is based on help and rotations, and we can hide him a bit with certain matchups. For christ's sake, the kid shot nearly 60% from 3 throughout training camp, preseason, and practice. (Clifford, Thibs, and C Ward keep track of an incredible amount of statistic through camp, and Bill W mentioned this throughout the preseason pregame broadcasts) I'm not saying he should start, but he needs a chance.
