Yeah baby!!! Almost beating the #1 team (Nebraska) and stunning 12th ranked Purdue with their backup QB, this team is for real. It's about damn time!!! ------------------ In order to be a success in life, you need 2 things: 1. Don't tell everything you know.
Man did I love that game. That was an AWFUL no-call at the end where Brees should have been called for intentional grounding, (they scored on the next play) but at least ND found a way to win anyway. They put up one of the best defensive performances I have seen all year, and to top it off against one of the Heisman favorites. Still hurts to think what might have been if they had won last week as well. They had a lot of opportunities. Anyway, what's done is done so let's just hope for wins the rest of the way. GO IRISH! (and Horns' later tonight!) P.S. What the heck was Purdue thinking by doing that fake punt down 3 inside their own 30 late in the 3rd! That was one of the dumbest play calls I've ever seen. ------------------ Looking for next year's Dan Langhi? Bobbo, That was a pretty unexciting game (at least until the last five minutes), you must admit. I was listening on the radio driving between Grand Rapids and Chicago on lovely I-94 while the game was on. The goofs on Westwood One were really giving it to Davie and co. about the playcalling - but I think they did a brilliant job once again. They knew what they were dealing with going into the third quarter - the defense once again came up huge, and it put ND in the position to play offense conservatively enough to win. It was frustrating that they wouldn't let Godsey wing it but it wasn't necessary. That's why they're the coaches. They were fortunate that Godsey came up so monstrously huge in the final drive. I didn't think they could drive it, especially considering the way Purdue's defense played. Another big game coming up. They're due for a win against the Spartans but I make no grand predictions of victory because they have yet to play away from home. ------------------ The Badministrator
Keeley- I think you'll appreciate a saying I heard when I was in South Bend this weekend... "Davie Standard Time" I think that was based on his errant calls last year. I admit, Saturday was a good game in that respect. Also, the students were wearing t-shirts that said "In GODsey we Trust." I couldn't find one for myself though!! Now, if we can only beat those damn Spartans... ------------------
