    I. Van Gundy can't run an offense. He has had scorers galore but can't score more than 90ppg.

    2. We need to be an offensive team. We have a 2-time scoring champ, Yao Ming, Taylor, and a Slovenian ready to explode.

    3. We are seeing the exact problems as last season, just that we don't have Francis/Mobley to blame it on.

    4. We are SLOW, and I mean SLOW. When did it get to a point where the Spurs games are so much more exciting than the Rockets? It is so hard to watch.

    5. JVG won't develop players. Non-starters won't get better. Everyone talked about how JVG loves his veterans. Well, he used them until they retired and was left with a bunch of players (except Houston/Spree) that never played. And then he quit!!

Bostjan is a prime example. Just when you think he is ready to explode, JVG benches him for 2 games and plays Ryan Bowen instead. Just shattering any rythm or confidence Boki had. It just shows that JVG will happily sub defense for offense. Bowen is one terrible player.

You can bash me for being a anti-JVG poster. But something isn't right.

JVG needs to find a way to balance out the offense/defense. He has yet to do it in his career and isn't showing any signs of changing.

that something that isn't right is, in my opinion is

    1) We're 8 games into a new season with a brand new team, we need time to gel.

    2) We may not have the right mix of players.

    3) Ward.

    I agree with #3.

But how much improvement do you see under JVG? The defense isn't he problem. The problem is the entire offense, from fast breaks to just passing the freak'n ball.

JVG talked about a motion offense. We are moving the ball but its not going anywhere. JVG wants to use 24 of 24 seconds we have the ball, therefore we never push the tempo or try to get easy buckets on fastbreaks.

I am just seeing ALL the same problems as last season. Francis/Mobley seem to be running fine over in Orlando-I believe #1 in the league. I'm not saying we should be that kind of team, but that is something we blamed soley on the guards.

Fisher got a HUGE contract from GS. Way too much for us. However, we missed big time when Barry and Damon Jones signed with other teams.

Phil Jackson, He's always ready when a team is one step shy from the championship. This rockets team have T-Mac and Yao, perfect for Phil to get his tenth ring.

You want a dynasty? Then you need a Zen master! It goes with the territory.

Why waste another year of Yao Ming?

There are plenty of guys out there. Phil Jackson or Geroge Karl would be nice.

I think when Phil Jackson titled his book "The Last Season", there was some sort of implication there. Not sure what though..

    *scratches head*

As for George Karl.. Anyone who would take him over JVG should be severed by 5 horses.

...and we gonna go medieval on his ass

Are you kiding? Geroge Karl would drive every single fan on this board nuts, and plus some more. The guy is a mental case, we are not a team for experiment. I say, PASS.

As for PJ, I'm from Chicago, so you know where I stand;)

But, seriously. There is nothing there to prove that JVG cannot get this group of players to the top. Agree or not, the Rockets organization made the commitment to JVG, we should stick with it, give the guy enough time to prove it. Coming this Summer, Les can make his decision based on his evaluation of JVG for the past two years. If JVG doesn't work out, we can call PJ then since that's about the end of his yearly vacation.

He might just mean the season just past when the Lickers had Shaq and Kobe. You know, it's the Zen thing!

You should not trust a Zen master but he can bring you the ring. The precious.

I guess were a defensive team that lets the other teams offense score more points than us. With Yao and Tmac we should score more than what we have. Something is wrong with this team. Some say we need to gel, and I agree to some extent. But honestly, if a pro athlete can't dump the ball into a 7'6" center and if can't kick it out to a 6'8" scoring champion guard or pass when he cuts; something is wrong. Basic basketball does not take gelling. And with JVG, thats all he asks. And lots of Defense...

It was very hard to watch the game...

Phil Jackson hasn't retired. He said will coach again, and said he would be interested in the Knicks job if Wilkins got fired.

Phil wants more rings, that is the only thing holding him back from being the best ever. He would take this job w/ no hesitation.

Okay, maybe I got a little emotional. I take that back.
