We've seen this crap before. Elbows & Knees. Holding jerseys. Pushes in the back. Taunting. Claims of innocence. We've let it change our play style in the past. We would shy away from contact. We would stop bodying up in the lane, or boxing out. We would stop driving the ball, or stop taking charges. We'd stop going after loose balls, and stop playing man D on the perimeter. We'd stop running an inside-out offense, and we'd start throwing up contested jumpers. If you saw how this Rockets team responded to the cheap, garbage, scrub play of the LA Thuggers tonight, you know that those days are long behind us. Every single cheap shot the Thuggers dished out, the Rockets just smiled and kept at it. Even Artest, who was ejected, was admittedly more subdued in his reaction to a flagrant foul than he had ever been before. The Rockets know they are the better team, and they aren't going to change one bit. In years past, a game like this would break us. Not this time. Rockets in 7.
Regardless whether we win out or lose, I think you've just found the next slogan for the Rockets. Not This Time. Rockets 2009-2010 tickets on sale now!
I agree with this topic 120%. Just when it feels like I can't love this team any more than I already do... they go out and do something that makes me actually love them even more. Tonight would have been PERFECT if Von wouldn't have done whatever it was that he did.
You may want to rename/re-label that "pushes in the back" pic. That sure as hell isn't what I'm getting out of it. Maybe rename it to "Odom practices man-love" or something...
We ain't backing down from this team. Kobe, constantly trying to imitate Jordan with his trash talking. Fisher, trying to project some toughness onto a Charmin soft squad. Vujab*tch, trashing talking to everybody any chance he gets, when any one of us here at Clutchfans can snap him in half. Odom, smiling that ugly smile, then proceeding to miss his free throws. I expect the Rockets to come out ready and determined to pound this Fakers team in Game 3. The basketball world deserves better than watching the Fakers get away with their cheap shots and dirty tactics. The Rockets need to answer that call, as do we.
so proud of everybody of this team. even we could lose the series, it cannot make me but love them more.
Yeah, this would make for a reaaally good sign for next game, and also a great slogan for this series. haha
