I switched from Dish Network to Time Warner at the beginning of October. I paid my first month the day everything was installed. I got a bill about three weeks later for November and paid that one as well. However, I haven't received a bill from them since, but all my services have been working perfectly. This ever happen to anyone else?

Don't rock the boat, if anything happens, just say you thought your fiancée was paying it and she thought you were paying it.

I'm not worried with coming up with a story, really. I just wanna know if I can spend that extra money or not!! :D

Just kidding. Actually, I was more worried about them thinking I just wasn't paying and it going to collections or something.

Yes this has happened to me. I decided not to rock the boat, then I got a bill for all the months that I wasn't charged. I called them, and they said they had some billing issues.

    I was then rocked.

This happened to my Reliant Energy bill a couple of years back as well. I didn't get anything for a few months, then I get one for like $650.

Oh no. It won't go to collections. If it is still working, you're golden.

But, yes. More than likely you will get a whopper of a bill at some point. At that time, you can decide to dispute it.

When I moved into our house in St. Louis, I had schedule Charter to come out and setup everything. The technician never showed, but when we moved in the cable was working. I didn't think anything more about the cable company until six months later it dawned on me that I had never received a bill. This went on for about 18 months until my wife finally wanted cable in our masterbed room on the second floor.

Not wanting to try and install the line myself, I called up Charter again and asked for new service and that I wanted an additional room wired. They was an awkward pause by the customer service rep, but she never said anything. The other room got wired and we finally started to receive a bill.

Technically they can come after you for stealing cable even if you didn't physically alter or change anything outside your home or on at the connection on the telephone pole.

Maybe you should contact them in an annoyed way about how you haven't gotten your bill and you are pissed off that you are probably going to have to pay a buttload at one time like coma did. Then make it sound like you are considering Dish and they might drop the charges or give you free premium channels. Just an idea.

I think the prudent thing would be to take the money and put it in a lockbox.

It sounds liek you missed one bill so far. It won't go to collections, but they will charge you a late fee. I have had missing bills in the past (lost in the mail, wrong address between moves, etc) and they never forget to charge you. And generally their system will automatically generate a late fee regardless of the reason. You can get it waived, but they'll try to assess it.

Ditto. Time Warner is easy for giving away free stuff.

    Go for it.

Not sure about Time Warner but DirecTV allows you to check your billing online.

Not only has time warner not sent me a bill in the past 2 months, but neither has the city of austin. I haven't paid for either of those two in a while... I'm sure I'm going to be paying out the butt for it.

Even with my move to digital I've been getting free showtime for 3 years now. I don't know what my cable installer is doing but I love him. He was 30 minutes late my appointment and the next day I had free showtime. Still do. Maybe it was a gesture. Don't know. But I will not rock the boat.
