610 is reporting the rockets offering Hakeem a 3 year deal. A 3 YEAR DEAL. We have now decided that keeping Hakeem in town is more important than our future success or signing any big name free agents in 2003. ------------------ Whatever happened to feminism being about taking off bras and burning them? That was so much cooler. It had two things that men love - jiggly breasts and fire.
YEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS A THREE YEAR DEAL!!! A THREE YEAR DEAL!!!!!!! A THREE THREAD DEAL!!!!!!!!!!!! ------------------ Protrolls.com! Keep the ???? alive! The ZRBucks!
Locking up Dream until 2004 means you can forget going after the big names that come out in 2003. ------------------ What if I say to you that the universe is a three-legged horse, eh? What then? - Russell Hoban
This three year deal will work out as well for us as that "three hour tour" worked out for its passengers. ------------------ Whatever happened to feminism being about taking off bras and burning them? That was so much cooler. It had two things that men love - jiggly breasts and fire.
How would paying the guy 2 million in 2003 hurt their free agency chances? ------------------ Protrolls.com! Keep the ???? alive! The ZRBucks!
Three year deal for the veterans minimum $1.5 million. ------------------ "Oh No..." -Bill Walton in 97 just before Stockton's buzzer beater
That wouldn't be so bad, maybe Hakeem's agent came to his senses. Though I still think that signing hakeem proves that they want to be a "playoff" team this year, and not a "championship" team in the future. ------------------ Whatever happened to feminism being about taking off bras and burning them? Third year at only $2.0 mil. We are still ok. CD did not sell the farm. Glad I didn't do a reactionary post. I agree with Clutch, if this still isn't what Hakeem wants......TRADE HIM! ------------------ He must have an enormous schfashtuker! Well, of course. That goes without saying.
Francis is a restricted free agent(correct term?) in 2003 (I think) and probably gets his big extension this year. This means the third year doesn't matter cap wise. A 50 win season? [This message has been edited by Joe Joe (edited July 30, 2001).]
Do you all think that Dream really can play for three more seasons? At that point he'll be 40, with bad knees and a history of other physical problems. ------------------ Calvin Murphy for President!
3rd year at 2 million wouldn't be all that bad, but is Hakeem going to take it? Especially with Toronto rumored to be offering him MORE for a 3rd year. ------------------ What if I say to you that the universe is a three-legged horse, eh? What then? - Russell Hoban
The correct amount, according to the Chronicle, is 3 years, $13 million. Hakeem would be nuts to turn that down. http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/Forum3/HTML/014274.html ------------------ Who's your buddy? Who's your pal? I am, aren't I?
I just hope HE doesn't think he can still play when he's 40 with bad knees and a history of physical problems. Then our management will still not want to take the PR hit of letting hakeem leave and we'll sign a then 41 year old center to another 3 year deal. ------------------ Whatever happened to feminism being about taking off bras and burning them? ? I haven't noticed anyone else who had "pimp" in their nick. Besides, this came from an online comic that I like. ------------------ Whatever happened to feminism being about taking off bras and burning them? That was so much cooler. I think he's referring to RocketPimp! ------------------ What if I say to you that the universe is a three-legged horse, eh? What then? - Russell Hoban
You know, I've thought about this a bit, and I think, maybe, perhaps, possibly, the plan for the Rockets is to beef up Eddie Griffin over the next two years or so and play him at center. He looks like he can put on about 30 pounds or so (as opposed to someone like me, doomed to be skinny and poor). Future starting Rockets lineup: (2 years away): 5) Griffin 4) Mo 3) T-Mo 2) Cat 1) Steve ------------------
lol. Classic. ------------------ "Colson makes a mockery of the PG position. It's like he's out there playing 1 on 9." -- pippendagimp with some candid player evaluations.
So does this make Hakeem's last year the first year of the new arena? If so, not a bad PR move. ------------------
