As a poster(just started coming regularly to the site),every time I write something in any thread I usually feal proud about myself,thus going back regularly to the thread to see if anyone answered me. Being very often disapointed,I thought I was on ppl's ignore list Bcoz of my nationality(just read another artical on french restaurants being snubed). But the light came through the words of Rockets2k,who made me realise that uninteresting posters were being ingnored. Therefor I have decided to make a thread to cry out my pain and anger! If u feal ur not interesting enough to be included in other thread,just write ur thoughts in this one and join my uninteresting club(haven't found a name yet,any suggestions?),where I have been auto-proclamed president! I'm tired of being the sole member of a parallele universe!Make it a least 2! ALA (BTW sorry for the spelling and the way it's uninspirely written,but it's almost 6 pm here and I've had a hard day's work)
now, i feel i must defend my words.. I did not say you were un-interesting..I merely gave that as a reason that some folks may not get the responses they feel they deserve. Like I said, I used to feel slighted because I felt that I contributed to conversations but never got responded to. It all comes down to if you post, and make a good point or a point that someone feels they should respond to, they will...they wont respond(for the most part) just to say..."I agree with what you say" join in more threads...ask questions if you dont understand what is being discussed, or bring to light something that others have overlooked, and people will answer you.

A La Rockets, Don't take it personal. There are a TON of posters who almost always lend good insight into a thread or have something to say and have most of their posts ignored. For me personally, a successful ratio is like 1 response for every 50 of my posts.

Hey, no one kills threads like I kill threads. DaDakota gave me Post of the Year honors in a thread about the Marine who decided he was a conscientious objector, and I think the thread got 3 more hits after that. I ranted and railed about Dallas in a recent thread, and it died soon after. I couple of years ago I started a thread about the legalization of drugs that got about 40 hits, if I remember correctly. I was disappointed that it didn't get more. I'm reminded of that every time that recent thread about the legalization of pot that's like 4 freaking pages long pops back up now. Its not that no one likes you....sometimes it just works out that way. Don't take it personally! Or maybe it [IS because you're French. <----kidding.
It's cool, man. Even if no one responds to your post, people are reading it. I'm on here every day but rarely respond or post. I read every thread though. I'm sure I'm not the only one. Some people post inflamatory (sp?) nonsense just to GET a response. Don't be that guy...

Let's face it, if you don't post about abortion, race relations, political philosophy, tax policy, homeless people, Seinfeld, the Simpsons, women situations and/or hot chicks, foreign policy or music, you will not get the attention you so desparately crave.
The more moderate and reasonable it is what you say, the higher the probability that it will be "ignored", in other words it will not solicit much of a discussion.

Yeah. Check my member number to my total post count. I'm always here, but I don't post nearly as much as anyone else. I'm working on that, though, and I've got Smeggy to thank for it: I realized that I know everyone here, but no one knows me nearly as well! I figured if I was going to participate in "real-life" bbs events I needed to be more vocal.
LOL LOL^2 Seriously, I know how you feel. I used to get upset when I first started here when I didn't get responses. Like others have said, just post in threads with insightful questions or points, and people will (eventually) respond. Another tip - until the furor of the Iraq situation dies down, I would ixnay the references to France.
