Houston's not very good for vegetarian restaurants, but if you eat out you should also check out Baba Yega for the veggie club (soy turkey and tempeh bacon), veggie reuben (wheat roast instead of pastrami) or Boca Burger w/Avocado; Field of Greens for a ton of familiar standards made meatless; Last Concert Cafe for Mexican food; Jenni's Noodle House for Asian fusion; Madras Pavillion for all veg Indian; Hollywood Chinese/Vietnamese for all manner of veg Asian; and Baby Barnaby's for breakfast.

This is what I was looking for when I started the thread (sort of). I made some Turkey Burgers with a blue cheese center last night. I mixed onions, green onions, and Worchestershire sauce in with the meat. They were decent.

I'll try a version of this (probably without the Rafer Alston) either tonight or after Christmas.

You ever eat the Morningstar chicken patties? I always buy those as a chicken patty substitute. To be honest, it's hard for me to tell the difference between those and a real chicken (processed meat) patty. It does the job just fine...but at $4.99 for 4. I'm weird in that when I build my Morningstar chicken sandwich on whole weat bread with light mayo/ketchup...I like to put tortilla chips on both sides of the bread before I close up with the patty. It gives it a little more crunch. I like it. However, it has to be a certain brand tortilla chip or I won't do it. lol. I personally think the Morningstar chicken patties are better than those Tyson chicken patties. Those things are disgusting.

i def eat meat, not gonna be a vegetarian any time soon. but my best friend is vegetarian and she had morningstar sausage patties at her house and we love them! my husband and i buy packs of those since they are much healthier than the real sausage. i can vouch for these.

I live near San Diego and want to go to this place

    http://www.tioliscrazeeburger.com/menu.htm - Tioli's Crazy Burger

They have all sorts of burgers including beef. Kangaroo, lamb, salmon, etc. Looks good.

But yes, morningstar burgers are decent if not a bit rubbery. So far I like Boca burgers the best as far as vegeburgers go.

If you take a chicken breast, chop it up, season it with chili powder, cumin and a bit of cayenne, it tastes really good.
