Is this show off the air now? When did this happen? Say it ain't so. What are we supposed to do for our highlights now, watch Sportscenter, where they mix them in with baseball highlights?!?!?
NFL Network has their GameDay show on Sunday nights as well. Though, you might only watch it if you're a fan of Deon Sanders on TV. I was a little impressed with NBC's Football Night in America.
OK, I missed it. That's what was great about Primetime. They repeated it after the Sunday night game. I hated Berman as much as anybody, but the highlight packages on that show were second to none.
There's still primetime... its just on Monday night before their game, not on Sunday. Also, from the way people watch football nowadays, people have likely seen every single highlight of every single game BEFORE the 6pm highlight show...
it better be on monday. i'm not a huge nfl fan but i almost always watch that show. put berman on a home run derby or sportscenter and he's annoying, on primetime with tom jackson he's gold.
Can someone please confirm if the original NFL Primetime is still around? I just read this from my local TV guide in Australia (I get ESPN International). NFL Primetime Live from the site of ESPN's Monday Night Football game, Stuart Scott will host with Ron Jaworski and Mike Ditka highlighting the best plays from Sunday's NFL games and previewing the Monday Night Football match-up. This is the precursor to Monday night countdown. Edit, just found the following (from http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sports/15467383.htm ) With NBC's new contract forcing the move of NFL PrimeTime, ESPN instead will have Chris Berman and Tom Jackson tape 30 to 40 minutes of highlights early Sunday evening, before they fly to the site of the Monday night game. Those highlights will run on ESPN's late Sunday night SportsCenter, as soon as NBC's Sunday night game ends. Berman said ESPN considered taping PrimeTime and airing it after the Sunday night game. ''But if we have it on SportsCenter and rerun it on Monday morning, more people will see it,'' Berman said. NFL PrimeTime now will air at 6 p.m. Mondays, with Stuart Scott, Mike Ditka and Ron Jaworski. . . . NBC's 7 p.m. pregame will be highlight-heavy from 7:15 to 8 p.m. Sundays.
This is a little off topic, but does anybody know where I can get the music that ESPN plays during the NFL highlights that Chris Berman and Tom Jackson do? I have the music they played during the Cowboys/Jaguars highlights during Sportscenter in my head right now.
Unfortunately NBC managed to pick up Sterling Sharpe. Ugh. I've been watching NFL Network now b/c I hate all that choreographed crap on ESPN.
Aside from the wretched female singer introduction (punk chick with a buzz haircut -- sorry, don't know who that was).... I thought the NBC crew did a bangup job. Like their production, highlights, and commentary. Always been a fan of Costas, good to see him back covering the NFL. Also, their music is terrific. I heard they actually brought in John Williams to compose original music for NBC football, and it shows.
That was Pink, and yes it was horrible. I thought it seemed like NBC was trying to hard overall (I did enjoy the "Quarter Pounder Breakdown" replay), and yes the John Williams theme march would have been more appropriate if Micheals and Costas were going to fight Count Dooku in the Galactic Senate Chambers rather than in and out of all 3,000 commericals for Peyton Manning endorsed products.
Well, it looked like it is called NFL Blitz on sunday, but only in pieces via SC...I'm assuing the real show will be tonight...
I guess I'm in the minority. Maybe it's just an appreciation for continuity in life (he's been there since I've started watching football), but I've always liked Berman and his dorky nicknames.
