There is no coverage because there is no inner turmoil.. no kobe and shaq bumping heads.. our guys get a long too well.... there's nothing new to write about... how many "they started the season bad, but they've learned to put it together and are now winning under JVG" or "the rockets made trades for JB and wesley and since then everything has been spectacular" articles can we read?... I really think this team needs to start a rivalry... maybe if they meet the heat in the finals???
unless we go on some kind of dynasty tear like the celtics we'll never get any respect. to the national media we're just the houston freaking rockets and they'll never care. did anyone care about detroit last year? not really. our two championships didn't do anything for our national cred, people still want to put asteriks by it, cause of jordan sports illustrated didn't even give us our due special edition, just some local crap. i still can't believe that. as a houston fan we have to learn to enjoy the team for ourselves cause i sure as hell do. this is the most excited i've been about our team since 97 and if we get a few championships i'll be just as excited even if the media doesn't print one word about it.
