so i got it last weekend and have been playing it off and on. i wonder what other xbox users think.

personally, i like it, but it also annoys me.

concept -- great concept, but i don't really like the ancient / modern mix. too avant garde for me to handle i guess.:)

graphics -- i guess really nothing is better, and the only thing that comes close is the prince of persia.

gameplay -- here's where it suffers a little. the sense of space and the controls for prince of persia i thought was much better. it's so hard to control directions. also, if they wanted to make it a fighting game, they should have taken out the puzzles and tough jumps, the kind you had to do in PoP because the lack of quantized movements and that poorer camera work makes it too hard.

but i guess i applaud their effort, which was to meld a great fighting game (like Devil May Cry or Onimusha) with a great adventure game like the Prince of Persia. I've played all these games, and personally I like hte prince of persia better, but this is a lot of fun. It borrows too much maybe from tecmo's other games like DVC (true form of the blade --> sparda, etc.) and Onimusha (essences --> souls), but hey it borrows what worked before.

Biggest problem I have is --> too F-in' hard! I actually think I'm stuck! Kind of frustrating.

Let me know if you have a good idea on how to beat the level 8 boss, that helicopter.

Games great, people have been telling me that this is the hardest game they have ever played, and hell its even on normal difficulty. The only thing I dont like is the camera angles, but I guess it'll take some time to getting used to. Chapter 8? I am still stuck on Chapter 2.

Ninja Gaiden 2 was the most overrated of all the Ninja Gaiden games. 1 and 3 were much more fun to play.

camera angels... well i use the right trigger often to center the camera, and i find that helps. there's no right trigger action during boss fights so, so look out.

chaper 2... you can't beat the horse dude? use your ninpo and make sure you have some potions. also kill the mages first, the boss himself's not that bad.

Ninja Gaiden is the 2nd best game I've played this generation on any system, right behind Metroid Prime. Only flaw is that the camera angles are bad every once in awhile (it was a problem while fighting the bone dragon boss in Chapter 6, and it was also a bit of an issue while fighting the demon horse rider boss and the accompanying samurai mages in Chapter 2). Right now I'm on Chapter 14. The game is very challenging, one of the harder games to come out in recent years, but it is far from the "hardest game ever." Chapter 7 boss (Alma) gave me fits, as did the tanks in Chapter 9.

You mean the Chapter 9 boss? You encounter a helicopter in Ch 8 but you can't kill it then...you actually get to try and destroy a chopper in Ch. 9. If you did mean Ch 9, then dodge the missiles at all costs, they hurt a lot. Best way to do this is roll and then jump at the end of the roll. Unload core arrows and explosive arrows on the chopper whenever you get the opportunity. You can replenish your supply of one or the other at the boxes at either end of the bridge. You may need to use an elixir or two because you may take some damage from the copter's machine gun, but with quick reflexes and accurate aiming you should prevail.

Actually Cold I found Alma pretty easy as long as you've got enough Devil Elixirs. Keep casting fireballs at her then when she falls hit her with a quick combo. If you run out keep doing the jump+Y attack. She's only a pain if you sit in one spot too long.

I beat it a couple days ago and the final couple of fight are annoying as hell. The actual final boss is kind of a letdown, but it still caps everything off pretty well. All in all an excellent game and glad I finished it before I started MVP Baseball. I'm owning it with the Astros at the moment.

    i just beat it tonight.

was stuck on the ending escape sequence. it was pretty aribitrary that you could just fall from the cracks. the same moves are so much easier to excute in prince of persia.

evil murai was very easy. owned him with the flying swallow.

meanwhile, notice the parallel with Devil May Cry at the end when you fight the demon god?

Hey zhao even though I've beaten it not everyone else has. Ya might not want to spoil the ending for everyone else. Just a suggestion. But yes the last mission is a pain, the last fight is easy, and I did notice the similarity to DMC.

You can say that again, Ninja Gaiden 2 was a disgrace.
