LMAO. Hit the nail on the head. I'm already used to us getting behind by 20 points in the third and coming back. This time it bit us in the ass. Same thing against Orlando Saturday night.
God Lord, Not a nice thing to turn on the PC and see the Headline "Redd drains NBA Record 8 threes in one quarter" sheesh, Its like Pre 1999 Reggie Miller came to town.
All the homeys will find something good in this loss with their head up in their donkey. It is getting old, a poster once wrote about my contribution on Francis. Well here we go again: I am sick and tired of seeing opposing point guards show me what SF is not. Bad toe or no bad toe, that is the way to run an offense. If Scott Skiles can step down, so can Rudy T. As a coach he is being exposed, big time. Where is the d, when the game was on the line? Where is the offense? No ball movement? In fact, Rudy should go back to his drinking days where he seem to have had more fire and passion. You know, those days where he stayed up all night, instead coasting like he is doing now. His players have no passion, except KT (thanks god for KT). EG and Tmo got shots swatted away simply because they seem to be like their coach, passionless. Dunk the fing ball, man! At the very least, Rudy should take a break, take the rest of the season off and clear your head. And the coaching staff is thin and shallow. We need some depth, people who knows offense who can preside over SF next development stage as a point guard, which appears to be stalled at the moment. Seriously folks, which team was playing games and which one was playing a game? Which one was pure business and which one was pure monkey business? Homeys, I am telling you now that no one on this team should be untouchable when it comes to trading, because we need big time help!
I am now convinced. Rudy is a great coach for a veteran team. We are far from that, and need a different type of coach. Lots os coaches are available this offseason. I love Rudy, and I'll cheer any other team he might happen to coach, but it's not a good fit. Rocks need the Riley/Van Gundy type.
I think ZRB has taken my place as the bbs member most under fire . ZRB, what you see is what I've seen and said all yr even during the supposedly good start we had. Many members on this board had excuse after excuse as to why the offense and defense sucked at the same time. Even in the early going when we beat some avg to bad teams, we didn't look or play good and it was only a matter of time before we were exposed. Many members looked at the injuries and everything else, but didn't look at the finer points of the game that injury or not a team is suppose to do. Nothing really amazes me with this team except when they out assist , outshoot, and force more turnovers than the opposing teams. You can't show me another team in the league that has 2 20pt scorers that has this poor of an offense. It all starts from the top down and filters along. Every team in the league knew about the new rules and for some reason, Rudy was like f**k it, we'll still run the same thing. With the type of offense Rudy wants to run, He needs Miller at 2,Glen Rice at 3, Tom Chambers at 4 and Lambierr at the 5 and thats with all those players in their prime. It makes no sense for the Rockets to play a series of 1 on 1 basketball all the time. Rudy has lost control of the team because of his piss poor offensive and defensive system. No team in the league has a sorrier flow in offense than the Rockets . Even when they make their shots, nothing is easy and thats the major reason why they are near the bottom in assist,fg%, and pts. Defensively, the Rockets have been poor since Hakeem fell from his dominating defensive presence. Once again he failed to adjust to his team stregnths. Whats wrong with a little 3/4 court pressure? Doesn't he know now you can zone press? Doesn't he know his center can stay in the lane until the ball crosses half court. The T'Wolves have slow ass Wally at the 2 and even slower Rasho at center and they are a better defensive team than us. It makes no sense at all and is unacceptable. Losing is one thing, but getting the **** kicked out of you is another. Then they have the nerve to question Redd still shooting the rock in the end. If you step between the lines and don't bring it, you will get embarrassed like tonight. If they don't want him to shoot like that, play some defense.
Why is there always someone to blame? Can't everyone just get along until next season when we kick ass?
Lee, you are fundamentally right on this. I just cannot see how those homeys cannot see it. If the team was not talented, I would understand but if there are changes, the same things are going to happen next year.
Why can't Rudy learn a lil' from the bucks they have the best backcourt in the league. We should be watching their offense and then exploiting all of our athleticism.Rudy T just can't run a backcourt oriented team.He needs someone who understands the NEW NBA, he needs help plain and simple! He also needs to make our guys PLAY D before anything. These guys one day say D is the key, the next game they don't play it, whose to blame? Both!
Last night's game was aweful. Especially when we were already getting killed and Redd was nailing threes, and no one was guarding him tight. It was just terrible. Mobley was aweful. He kept gunning and missing terribly.
Exactly! That's not a knock against Rudy. Some coaches are just better with veterans than they are with young players. Even the mighty Phil Jackson admitted that he is better at taking already-good teams to the next level than turning a young team into a contender. Personally, I'd like to see Mike Dunleavy as the coach of the Rockets. I think he did a good job with the Blazers, before Trader-Bob ruined everything. And, he is a former Rocket... Actually, I've always had that title. You just took it from me for a short while. What bugs me most about this team is that they just don't look like professionals. EVERY team that plays against the Rockets seems to have the fundamentals mastered. They always look like they're supposed to win, even when those teams are the Cavs or the Bulls. The Rockets are more talented than they are given credit for. They are heavily underachieving this year.
Personally, I think it's the players. At some point, the blame can't fall on the coach. Our guards running around like roaches with their heads cut off guarding the pick and roll 95% of the time can't be Rudy.
I agree the players look lost. So one of three things are happening: 1. The players aren't smart enough to remember the plays 2. There are no plays for the players to run 3. The players are to lazy to learn addional plays, and have no idea what is going on when one is called. If the answer is 1 or 3, then its time to put players on the trading black. If its 2, then, well...... you always have the mind 90's to remember until RT decides to leave.............
Has everyone forgoten that we haven;t even had a full training session for most of the season? Things like this can be big factors!
