My first time at actually picking all games. CIN @ ATL Hard to pick this one because the Bengals, much like the Cowboys, are much better on paper than their results so far indicate. But I expect the Falcons to rebound from last week's loss at home here. So far the Bengals haven't been as impressive defensively this season as they're supposed to be, and at this point I'm almost positive Carson Palmer has lost his mojo for good. PIT @ MIA This is a classic trap game for Pittsburgh and I would not be at all surprised to see Miami pull off the upset. The Dolphins can beat *anybody* on any given day, as long as they don't shoot themselves in the foot. I'm almost tempted to call the upset. Almost. BUF @ BAL Ravens should run roughshod all over the hapless Bills here, who have suddenly emerged as a strong contender for this season's wannabe 0-16 team. JAC @ KC Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones will have a field day. Trent Edwards might have some success throwing the ball here but I don't think he's going to have the ball nearly long enough to threaten. Actually as of now we don't even have a clue who's starting for the Jags. CLE @ NO Another potential upset special as I think the Browns will have success running the ball. But I think Drew Brees begins to revert to MVP form and gets the win. WAS @ CHI The inevitable implosion of Soldier field is postponed yet another week. SF@ CAR The return of Steve Smith is not going to help the hapless Panthers, who are the other strong contender for wannabe-0-and-16-team-of-the-season. It's quite amazing that they don't have a single NFL-caliber wide receiver on that roster behind Smith. Not one. STL @ TB Hard to call a winner here between two better-than-expected teams. I like the potential emergence of WR Danario Alexander as a real playmaking threat for Sam Bradford, and I give the edge to a solid Rams defense and strong running game even though they're on the road. PHI @ TEN Looks like Kerry Collins is starting for the Titans, which means I wish I had the Philly defense on my fantasy roster. And regardless of who the QB is, the Eagles just might be THE team to beat in the NFC. ARI @ SEA Seattle is a tough place to play. Especially for a rookie. Even if he has tons of moxie, like Max Hall does. Marshawn Lynch and Justin Forsett will have a big day against a terrible Cards run defense. NE @ SD They might contain the Law Firm, but a hobbled Antonio Gates and no Malcolm Floyd is not going to be enough to counter Tom Brady & Sons. OAK @ DEN Philip Rivers demonstrated how to dissect the Raiders vertically two weeks ago, and I'm sure the pass-happy Broncos were paying attention. MIN @ GB Too many injuries for the Packers. The Vikings are going to be looking to get themselves right back in the division race here, and they'll do it. I'm starting Moss here without hesitation. Monday Night: NYG @ DAL The desperate Cowboys have their number and will get it done here.
I agree with everything except this. No DeSean Jackson, and no Jason Peters is going to prove costly against that Tennessee defense. I think the t*** come out fierce in this one, especially since it means they would have first place in the division all to themselves (until next Monday night anyways). With Jackson, I don't think Kolb is going to have as easy a time as he did against the Falcons, and without Peters there to protect him, that d-line for Tennessee is gonna do their damage. Unfortunately. I hope I'm wrong though, and the Eagles blast the BESF's.
NFL just fined 12 more players for hits last week: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-nflfines Anyone think offenses are going to go crazy this weekend with defenders being afraid to hit anyone? I'm thinking get a WR in your flex spot this week.
It looks like the people at Ch.11 in Houston took some drugs during the week and changed the early CBS game from Steelers/Dolphins to Browns/Saints. How idiotic is that?
Superbowl Champs, plus two Texas high school QBs plus a bunch of Longhorn alums all over town plus New Orleans being the closest regional team? Steelers have fans everywhere, so I don't know which would generate higher ratings, but I can see the logic.
My friend who's a Dallas fan, said he'll finally stick a fork in them if they lose this one. He's actually coming around to the Texans. He actually watched the entire game of the Texans win last week, saying Houston has a fun offense to watch. Weird seeing him rooting for the Texans, since he's always been just a Dallas fan. Can't say I'd ever do the same for Dallas.
This lifelong Steelers fan and longtime Fins sympathizer doesn't want to hear it! I couldn't care less about the Saints or Colt McCoy. Ticks me off, but oh well.
The NFL released this video meant to show the difference between an illegal and legal hit... they showed the Dunta hit... then they showed a Ray Lewis hit on Dustin Keller from earlier in the year... they were the EXACT same hit except for Dunta hit him in the chest (underneath the chin), whereas Lewis hit him in the side of his torso (imagine where your elbow would be if your arm was resting at your side). They both had their head down, and they both left their feet/launched themselves leading with their shoulder.
TheHuddle) Updating an earlier report, New York Giants WR Hakeem Nicks (hamstring) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 22, reports Ralph Vacchiano, of the New York Daily News. He probably will be able to play in Week 7. Analysis: Nicks was all smiles in front of reporters and said it was just general "fatigue." He already played through a sore ankle earlier this season so he should play Monday after an extra day of rest for his legs. The Giants have a light practice scheduled for Saturday and we'll hear more about Nicks.
NE must cross the country after an overtime win vs. Baltimore? SD certainly hasn't impressed this year, but they still seem like a team that could randomly beat anyone. With that being said, I still can't believe SD is favored...
If Chris Cooley scores a touchdown, he said he will do the peanut butter jelly time dance for his end zone celebration.
WTF? I thought CBS originally had Pittsburgh at Miami. Now we get Cleveland and New Orleans? I think we have as many Steeler fans in Houston as we do Saints fan.
