We will play Portland, Seattle, Lakers, Minny and Dallas for the next 5 games. The game at Minny is very likely a loss. Fortunately we got the rest 4 opponents at home. But for some reason we don't play Portland and Seattle well, and Don't tell me that we can beat Dallas at home. And Lakers is always Lakers. I will be extremely pleased if we manage 3:2 and will be ecstatic if we go 4:1. But realistically I won't be shocked if we go 2:3 or even 1:4. We must win at least two games to build some momentum for the final push for the PO. Your thoughts?
If they can pull out 4 wins they are almost assured of getting in the playoffs. If they win 1 or 2 they will be fighting hard for that last playoff spot with portland who are on a roll right now.
I checked the rest of the schedule for Denver and I am expecting them to lose 12-13 games the rest of the season. That will bring their season record to 43:39 or 42:40. Currently we are 33:24. Out of the rest 25 games, I think that the worst we can go is probably 12:13 (realistically I can see us finishing 14:11) which translates to 45 to 48 wins. Even at 45 wins, I like our chance to get an 8th seed. If we win 48 games, we will probably get a #6 seed and draws the Spurs for the 1st round. I'd rather go for the 7th seed and faces KG and the gang instead.
Our last 9 games are even more brutal: all against western conference and 6 are on the road. This will be a true test for the Rockets.
I figure the Dallas game is a loss and hopefully they can win 3 of the other 4 games. We need the Portland and Seattle games for sure. Portland has been on a role as of late but against light competition. I am not sure how we match up against their new line up but if we can shoot the ball decent, we should win. I can see Seattle beating us though, if they can get hot from outside with our poor perimeter defense but Yao should have a field day inside with all the stiffs they will throw at him.
Next 5 games will really improve or hurt the Rocket's playoff chances. Sonics and Trailblazers are direct competition for the last 2 spots in the West. Lakers, TWolves and Mavs will be tough. Will be a great 5-game series.
exactly, we need this game. it kind of counts 2 games with adding 1 on our win column and 1 on their loss column if we win the friday game.
in order for the rockets to win ost of their games in that 5 game streach, steve needs to be a factor, not a role player.
The scary part is that we can somehow lose all 5 games. I really don't know how we match SAR and Randolph, and Damon always gives Steve fit. We need to win the Seattle game for sure. Hopefully that we can beat the Lakers since we match up with them well (I heard that Kobe won't play because of the trial, right?) and Marlone is not back as of yet. There is basically no chance that we beat Dallas (even at home) and KG on the road. Minny routed the Nets last night even if they started the game poorly.
Degree of difficulty for Rox to beat the team (from high to low): Portland, Seattle, Dallas, Minny and Lakers
i would love to see the rockets vs minnesota or lakers in the play off we had the numbers of both them let go to the clutch baby
4 of the next 5 games are at home, and our record is much better there than on the road. All games are atleast winnable just as much as they are losable. How's that for logic on my part?
really?<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_1_204.gif' border=0></a> here is my logic: when we score more points than the opponent, we win; when we score less than the opponent, i believe you can figure out what happens.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_11_3.gif' border=0></a>
Lakers are gunna be tough i think Shaq will me a monster. I think we are due a win against the Mavs on our home court, they cant keep this streak going. If we cant put away seattle we dont deserve to be in the playoffs!
THIS IS THE REAL TEST FOR THE ROX. IF THEY GET 3 WINS... THAT WILL GIVE THA FANS A REAL EXCITEMENT FOR THE PLAYOFFS.
