i can't keep up with this. owned > pwned > pwn3d > pwnt > ka-pwnt! 1. owned: original. 2. pwned: warcraft screwup 3. pwn3d: i cooler version of "pwned" with the 3 looking like a backwards capital "E". 4. pwnt: a ghetto version of pwned. almost like "killed" and "killt" 5. ka-pwnt!: when a simple pwnt won't do, the "ka" adds more. like "ka-boom!" anyway, did "pwnt" just come out or something? i must remain cool, so help a bruh out. word. bored... i don't meet up with my friends until later this evening. edit... actually there should be some kinda tree bracket or something if you wanted to add "ownage" and "ownt"
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=pwnt&page=1 If you look up some of the dates that pwnt definitions were entered, you'll find that it's pretty old.
Ok speaking of internet slang, can anyone tell me what [sic] means? I see this occasionally in various places but I have no idea what it means.
Heh, that waaaay predates the internet. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it stands for "spelling is correct" and is usually used when an article is trying to use an exact written quote that contains a misspelled word, and are trying to establish that it is not a typo, but how it was actually spelled by the person being quoted. It has always slightly confused me too, and I might be slightly off on my definition, but I am certain that it is not internet slang.
You know, that makes sense. Usually it follows a word that is spelled wrong. Thanks Jeffster. I'll sleep better tonight.
ok? yeah. i went to four different clubs tonight (alone... yep... sorry jeff) and i come back to see this? i guess i've been lmaololwtfiircbtwsicroflmao,ka-pwnt. damn. losing cool pointz (do i gain points since i spelled points with a "z"?). i thought that "sic" was just another form of "sick" as in "that dunk by tmac last night was just plain sic." i guess not. btw mcable, the palmeiropwnt was a gem.
"sic" I believe is Latin for "thus that is". There'a a wikipedia article on this that explained it pretty well, but it has sice been edited. Link
