They BETTER change the Rocks' unis! It would be nice to be proud of our look when we step on the floor.

I have absolutely no fashion sense, but to me the logo does look like something a 5th grader doodled on his folder during a really boring class... The pj's look OK to me, but that logo's gotta go.

How 'bout red/gold pinstripes w/ the old logo? I dunno, no fashion sense... but I like the idea of bringing back the logo from the championship years.

I think they just need to change the snarling Rocket and maybe lose the stripes.

No need to bring back the old logo or unis.

they were bland and boring and have nothing to do with winning two championships

The colors have GOT to change. We need the Rockets Red Glare again, dammit! NO pinstripes. NO shark-toothed rockets. NO friggin' blue.

I love the old uni's, logo and all.

Wow, another Randy Rhodes fan. Cool. I know it's not Rocket talk. But I've always wondered about posters music preferences. For some reason, I've always thought I was probably the only RocknRoller on this board.By the way, Randy was my childhood hero who inspired me to pick up the guitar.

Like I said before, my sense of fashion is inadequate. But I do understand colors (I just don't know how to put them together in an aesthetically pleasing way - fashion).

Anyway, a few tips on what the main colors (red, white, blue) mean:

Red: Revolution. War. Violent competition, dominance over the weak. Commies and jocks love this color, and any sports team without it has no purpose.
White: Peace, bliss, stability. White indicates intelligence and wisdom, the know when to call off the red. Any team who lacks it must be a Commie team.
Blue: Wonder, excitement. Exploration, and all things new. Acknowledgment of change. (this color is absent from many warlike nations' flags...rare in the third world)

Whatever unis we (they) decide upon, I hope these colors are incorporated. My preference is lotsa red, a mediation of white, and a splash of blue. The meaning being: We're done (almost) with change/rebuilding, we're ready for war/game, and we'll accept that trophy in good faith, thank you very much...

Red, White, and Blue. Can't go wrong with that.

And gold? I always thought that represented $$$.

Doesn't the NBA require a two year application process? Why not write to the NBA offices under the auspices of the Freedom of Information Act and inquire?!

I agree with those who say the blue and the pinstripes have to go. Since I don't live in the Houston area anymore, I haven't truly adjusted to the blue unis. When Sportscenter says Rockets highlights are coming up, there's still a part of me that expects to see the red and gold. I want the red and gold back... no more blue, no more pinstripes.

On the orignal logo, keep in mind the franchise moved here when NASA was still a really big deal. I think the small rockets flying around the basketball was a takeoff on the NASA logo (the cool old one...the meatball...not the newer scifi letter one.) I'm all for upgrading the logo, but the colors and design need to be based on the old uniforms.

And again, The jersey that is lifted in honor of Hakeem better be red and gold.

Yeah, I agree with the need for Red and the elimination of the pinstripes. I think we should go with Raptor/Laker style jerseys, make them red, but have the sides/shadowing be in either blue/white, or yellow/white(old school). I'd rather keep the navy blue for the 3rd color though.....yellow was always kind of ugly.

Hey, have the mock uni gif's been posted on this thread yet???

Lance and John just said since red isn't marketable, the Rocks would never return to that as a dominant color...one question...how about yellow and purple?? are those marketable colors? I'm guessing the fakers sell quite a bit of yellow merchandise to grown men trying to look tough! [IMG]

Red isn't marketable? I wonder what they based that on? It wasn't a problem for the Bulls in the 90's. Many of the most popular soccer teams in the world use red as their primary color(Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Arsenal, etc.) I don't think the St. Louis Cardinals are doing too badly. I think winning is what increases a teams marketability. The Rockets should be red.

I could either go back to the old Rocket red/gold or modify the current uni's by eliminating the pinstripes. In fact, by doing that with some other slight mods might blend well with the Texans new uni's when they come out.
