Ok guys and gals, its finally time to upgrade my 15 year old 27” tube JVC and get with the times.

I know I want HDTV and have $ 750 – 800 to spend. What is the best deal out there, what technology can I afford.

p.s. Don’t need anything to big.

    Thanks,

    Jack

btw - I live in spring TX

I think my Dad got his 42" Samsung DLP at Sams or Costco for a very decent price. Under $1000 I think.

would you drive to san marcos? there's a Sony Outlet store. I know you can get a CRT 34in HDTV for $700. its heavy and bulky, but its HD and its good.

I'm going to be getting a new TV in the near future...I may get a projection as my Living Room is built weird and it looks better than a TV on a table...Plus it'll be cheaper...

Here is what a friend of mine sent me earlier today...

"Prices are getting better. Outpost.com has a 32” for $499 and a 37” for $697. I am still waiting for a 42” or bigger for under $1,000. Have seen a 42” plasma for $1197. May have to wait for about a year. Laser TVs will be released that last quarter of next year and from what I am reading they will be better than plasma and LCD at half the cost."

You may want to check this out: link

I'm not sure about Emprex but it is a 37' and comes with a ATSC tuner so you don't have to buy an HD converter.

dude its 50in!! there should be plenty of viewing angle for this TV! plus its so dirt cheap, and i put in my zip code and there was $0 shipping.

dont forget its a DLP, so its pretty light and not that bulky.

Wow...another great deal, it seems. When I'm ready to replace my bedroom tv, I'll have to remember to ask you guys.
