My birthday is coming up and I commented about how much I loved these to my dad who has one, so he, being the coolest dad ever, got me one... Oh, mama, I'm in heaven.
got any glass for it? www.fredmiranda.com has good lens ratings. As does www.photographyreview.com www.bhphotovideo.com and www. adorama.com are where I buy most of my accessories. Man.....I really need to get back out and start shooting again.
Not bad...for a Nikon. A lot of my friends have the D70. I have the Canon Digital Rebel and love it, plus it was cheaper. They are now out the the Digital Rebel XT. What I REALLY want is the Canon 20D. I just don't have the extra cash these days.
Nice Camera Jeff. I almost bought one but opted for the Digital Rebel to save some cash. I have a Nikon Cool Pix 5000 that takes great photos so I'm sure your D70 does the same. The best thing about stepping up to a digital SLR is "bye bye shutter lag" This was the best accessory I've bought for the Rebel... http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/PictureMate/pmwhyPM.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes
For nature shots, I love to go out to Brazos Bend State Park. http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/park/brazos/ The biggest problem with a digital SLR (or any SLR for that matter) is that you will very soon start lusting after better, faster, and longer reaching lenses.
Now I'm jealous. I have an EOS 10D, and my best lens is a 400mm--but it's the slowest one Canon offers......it was all I could afford.
Anyone notice that this thread was above the the penis one??? It looked like this NEW TOY Man grows penis on arm
My uncle (dad's brother) lives in Alabama and has an entire room in his house just for his camera bodies and lenses. He has a couple of Hasselblad's, tons of lenses going all the way up to a Nikor 1200 mm. It's unreal. My dad's 500 is definitely his best lens. He has a few Nikor's but a lot of Tokina's and others of a lower-price range. Not sure how much the 500 set him back, but it was a LONG time ago when he bought it. One of the coolest cameras he has, IMO, is his Niknonos for shooting underwater. He got it 25+ years ago and it is still in perfect working order in or out of the water.
