http://ps3.ign.com/articles/105/1056817p1.html It's a paid service that might include access to beta games, free PSOne titles, cross-game voice chat, one-hour free trials of games, and even remote 'cloud' storage. Online play will STILL BE FREE. Pretty good to see. Can't see a downside but I also can't imagine it will affect console sales. On a random note, just passed Uncharted 2 over the weekend and the game is ****ing awesome. Almost every level feels different. Playing Ratchet and Clank Future 2 and it's a lot of fun but the guns aren't as good as the first 1. Next up it's: Left for Dead 2 and Bioshock. Maybe the new GTA IV download.
Whats with this dumb Q stuff? First it's Qore, now we get Qriocity? What is the Q supposed to sound like to them? They should be making cross game chat free, but there's not a lot of useful chatter anyways in most ps3 games anyways.
This is just a rumor (or early leak if you prefer) right now though I think, right? For a minute there, I thought we saw the quickest turn-around between initial rumors and final implementation (with all details still the same). They shouldn't make cross-game voice chat a premium feature. But everything else sounds great. Was worried that they would take away features for a premium service (e.g., charge for online play), but this seems like a good way to implement this sort of system IMO. I think I'd actually be tempted to subscribe to such a service, and if others are willing to do the same, it should be nice revenue stream for PSN.
Agree. The cross-game chat should be included in the basic stuff. I think though too that I would probably be inclined to pick it up, if nothing else than just to play PS1 games. Pretty interesting, but the better make the chat happen.
