Not a new head coach, but maybe we should bring in someone who can itroduce a real structure to the offense, like Tex Winters does with LA and did with the Bulls. Rudy is a great figurehead and gets results on the defensive end, for the most part, but I have just never been impressed with his offensive game plan, even in the old days. We just need someone with a little bit more knowledge of the X's and O's to take over that part of the coaching duties.

Thats why we need a clean sweep of so called Assisatant Coaches. They could, of course be sent back to the Tape Room! Instead we should bring in Assistant Experienced Coaches or Coaches with specialty areas like Defence of Offence, a coach for Big Men would be of great help, as we havnt had one since Carol Dawson stopped coaching.

The coaching problem with this team is not lack of X and O's or lack of game plans. This team have no coach who can teach basic basketball skills. Everybody says that this team is load with talents. Well, yes. But the players have no skill so they settle to depend on their talents. That's what we has saw on the courts, dribbling and ISO.

RudyT had realised ISO is not a solution with a center like Yao. But he cannot enforce a passing game to his players. Every good passing game was followed by several of ISO game. And every road game was a ISO game. Why? Because the players does not possess passing skills, court vision, off ball movements, screening, etc.

After some really ugly loses, RudyT can force them to play one ugly passing game. Yes, with the talent the team has, even an ugly passing team will bring in good wins. But skillful basketball games is not natural to this team. Because they are young, because they are talented, because they lack of CBA experiences, they did not take their time to learn those skills. Maybe because they thought talents were enough or they have no chance to learn the skill. Anyway, they have to learn how the organized basketball is really played in NBA. Well, that is a sad fact because they should learn all that in college.

Anyway, now matter how sophisticated your X and O's are, your offense, defense plans are, these guys cannot excute those. The team need to bring MANY assistant coaches and bring the players back to college. Learn the basic basketball skills/theorys. Raw talents are nothing in NBA. That's the reason the Rockets cannot make the playoff.

Bring in a lot of assistant coaches and fire video coordinators. RudyT knows his job but he cannot teach the guys how to walk. That's the assistant coaches' job.

I totally agree. Our assistant coaches need more X&O and experience. I truly believe if Rudy did not get sick, Rox would be in the playoff this year. Larry Smith wanted to put his own stamp on the team, but it backfired on him and the team went 4-6. What he should do is to stick to Rudy's game plan and substitution pattern, get in the playoff first and then do whatever he wants.
