I picked it up yesterday and listened through it once so far, but havent really "listened" to it just yet. It hasnt really grabbed me the way out of exile and the self-titled one did from track one. But a lot of times songs will grow on me and I will be listening to it the next few days. There are a few tracks on there that sound real good though. Their best album? thats debatable imo i still prefer out of exile for right now

i was gonna start this thread the other day but forgot. i didn't even know they had a new album coming out till i saw the best buy ad.

anyways i like revelations. i haven't had a chance to really sit down and listen to it through my headphones, but it's certainly given me a good first impression, which is a lot more then i can say for that steaming pile of crap that was their last album. that thing was terrible. from start to finish they'll have a hard time making a better record than their first one.

I liked Audioslave's first two albums, but this one is a bit too "hard" for my liking.

thats kind of the same for most bands now a days, their first album is what they spend the most time with and can craft it better. After you make the first album they are on tour and expected to be writing songs then and ready to bang out another year and half or whatever.

I like it better than the second one, but it can't beat the first album. I don't think its that hard at all.

So yall all pretty much hate the 2nd boy? I loved that one. Compared to the average rock CD coming out these days its perfection. Im giving the 3rd boy a good listening to now. Number 10 is growing on me quick. You cant go wrong with Audioslave. I heard a rumor they broke up a few months back. Any truth to that?

I think I like the second one better than the first as well. With most bands, they have a creative edge that tends to wane over the years. To me, that first album was all about Chris Cornell and the ex-members of range trying to "find their way" working together, so that it really just felt a lot like Rage with Cornell singing. I felt like they melded together better, and forged their own identity with the second album. I love them both, but I think the second one is better just because they had time to play together, and become more of a band than a collaboration.

Anyway, I'm excited to check out their new one. I'll have to see if I can pick it up sometime soon.

Downloaded it and listened to it while chillin' at the pool this past weekend just to see how she turned out.

Average rock CD, just as I expected. Half of the songs sounded the same to me.

yeah that's true but it's not really the first album for any of them individually. i guess it starts over creatively in a new band but all these guys should be used to the grind by now.

rumors about them breaking up our false and they are actually going on tour next year....this album just seems to bring the best of both worlds having the hard rock but also slow down soulful feel to it....track 2 and 10 are my favorite..but i think with audioslave u just gotta listen to the tracks a couple times and then ull start to really like their stuff there just diff then all the other rock bands with their lyrics and with morello's riffs its a unique combo
