I was just curious if anyone had a solution to my mini-problem: I'm on a college ethernet connection, often getting downloads of 8-9 mb/sec connecting to people on campus with AIM. However, when I use bittorrent (Azureus is my client), my connection slows down to a 5 kb/sec crawl. Granted, it spikes to 15 kb/sec from time to time but I have a suspicion that my school is purposefully limiting download speeds on common file-sharing ports. Fortunately, Azureus allows me to change the ports it works on. Any ideas on what would be the best ports for running it instead of the default, common file-sharing ones? With bit torrent the seeder isnt some1 on campus so ur not getting the full capabilites of ur network. Thats why when u try ot connect to some1 on campus it goes fast. But when u try ot conect to some1 off campus u are limited to thier max speed.
