If Nugs deal with Nets they seemingly deal Nene. After Nets package they would want _____?

If Nugs deal with Knix and they get Mozgrov (the Russian Frederick Weis) they seemingly deal Nene. After Knix package they would want _____?

If Nugs deal with Knix withOUT Mozgrov do they still deal Nene?

These scenaria affect the Rox ... how?

And if Nugs wait 'til very last minute how does that affect entire 'trade season' for every other team?

There are 2 automatic assumptions prevalent on CFans. And they are not well founded IMO.

That assumption is that trading Anthony signals a Fire Sale.

First off, the Nuggs are in the playoffs...trading Nene will NOT sit well with the local fan base. They would rather see what the team can do with the incoming players. And unless the new CBA is radically different...the Nuggs still offer Nene the best money in a new contract or SnT. (Plus Nene's wife if from CO.).

The 2nd assumption is that with Nene on the trade table, the Rockets have the best pieces to entice the Nuggs to a trade. That's not a given.

Can't say I'm 'panting' for Nene. I'd like him, but - - at what cost? And the thread is asking 'considering the supposed trade offers for Melo, when he is dealt then what does Denver want for Nene, if anything at all???'

the Nene situation scares me because Nene doesn't want to leave Denver. His wife is from there and pregnant I think

He'll just opt out of his player option after the season and leave us high and dry.

Morey will not make a play for Nene. I can almost guarantee that.

Surely we can do better for Denver than Minnesota in the Melo deal. Wouldn't it make more sense to get cap relief and prospects and picks from us as the third team in the Melo deal. Something like Randolph, Curry, and Nene here for Yao's contract, Budinger, Hill, unwinding the 2011 pick, and making it just the higher of the two picks sent to Houston and the lower of the two picks sent to Denver along with CA, Billups and the other players. Mix it up, slosh it around, however you have to work the numbers to bring in Nene and Anthony Randolph here. This gives Denver an extra pick to work with along with the luxury tax relief and a couple young players in Hill and Budinger.

    Got it.

If they go "that route", they'll want the same thing they want for Melo. Young established talent and picks. Bear in mind. If Melo and Billups go in the same deal, the Nuggs are not in need of cap space. Al Harrington will be their highest remaining contract @ $6.2M.

I think NeNe would be a good "temporary" fix but a risky "permanent" solution. I dont like his injury history.

No matter how good a player performs on the court - what good is he if he cant stay on the court and hogs up serious cap space at the same time?

I doubt if anyone is particularly keen on Hill and Budinger.

Rockets cannot trade the 2011 or 2013 1st round draft picks because we traded the 2012 draft pick already BTW.

Agreed -- though, I think it depends on what deal they do. If they trade for Favors and a bevy of picks, I would think they are closer to "blow it up". If they trade for the Knicks assortment of Gallinari et. al, they're better off competing.

First time seeing your Jimmer prediction...I really hope not.

The Knixies deal, to me, looks like they could still compete (if they could gel, of course) and might be less interested in kids and picks. But, if Mozgrov is part of it then do they consider the 5 filled so let's move Nene. Again, for what? Or do they look to flip Knix immediately.

Nets' package is all tomorrow and then, yes, more youth and/or picks seems to be the next move for Nugs...

All in all I care only as to how it impacts what DM the GM can bring back to 'my' Rox. Because I want the Rox back to relevancy, then ParadeVille.

If the Nuggets do the Knicks trade & get Mozgrov, then Nene goes back to the 4 (his natural position) and either Martin and/or Harrington become expendable. With the Nets trade, all the vets are on the block. With the mindset of their owner, I'd bet on the Nets trade.

Melo has greater leverage than the Nuggets organization. I think they will have to accept the Knicks deal or let him walk at the end of the day. The chances of him re-signing with Denver is very slim.
I don't think this is going to affect the Rockets at all.

Not really. The CBA can really effect Melo and he knows it. If Melo really wanted to go to the Knicks and help them he would just shut the talk down, so as to avoid the Knicks shipping talent out of his future team.

Melo wants his money and if Denver calls his bluff then he will make half as much after the new CBA going to the Knicks compared to staying with Denver and signing for more.

Did you purposely write this in the form of the classic "Fox in Socks" by Dr. Seuss?
