So, I bought the Roku Netflix Player box for my mother and installed it this weekend. I'm actually pretty impressed. She only has a 1.5 Mbps DSL connection, but the image quality is surprisingly good on her 42" LCD.

Installation only took a few minutes. I connected one HDMI cable to her TV. The Roku box detected her wireless network, and I input the security key. Then it connected to Netflix's servers, and showed me an activation code. I input the code on Netflix's website and we started using the Netflix Player immediately - it showed all the titles in my mother's Watch Instantly queue automatically. She found the user interface very intuitive.

All in all, she is very happy with the service. She gets new releases via the mailed DVDs, and while she's waiting for them to arrive, she can still watch older movies or TV shows any time she wants, for ~$10/month.
