The Superbad sequel really took a dark turn. In all seriousness, this looks promising. Cary Fukunaga has some fantastic work under his belt thus far.
Since they seem to be playing with alternate realities, I want to see a Superbad reality thrown in. Maybe Jonah Hill drawing some dick cartoons while he is in a semi-catatonic state.
Really enjoying this series. On episode 5 and netflix got something right. Fukuaga is so creative in his world building.
I think it's trying too hard to be weird and different that it's actually not telling a very interesting or compelling story. 5 episodes in, so that could change, and I will definitely finish the series, but I'm disappointed with it thus far.
Just seen 1 episode so far, and not getting what's going on. I would have thought things would be more clear by episode 5!
I went ahead and binged the whole thing. I liked it overall. Justin Theroux and Sally Field were outstanding. The leads and the rest of the cast were also solid. The story went a bit too far in spots and threatened to careen out of control so that's why I wouldn't give this 5/5. I'd recommend it though. Solid 3.5-4/5.
