Although I have been on the web a few years now, I have yet to learn much internet slang. I keep seeing terms like "IMO" and "IMHO" on this board, so I would like to know what they stand for. They probably stand for something completely obvious, but I would appreciate some help.

    ------------------
    2000-2001 Rockets Game Formulas:
End of 1st quarter: "They're playing so well!"
    2nd: "What a great game!"
3rd: "Theres no way they can lose now!"
    4th: "What the ******* **** happened?!!"

It is obvious once you think about it.

In My Opinion, and In My Humble Opinion.

Took me forever to figure some of these things out, too.

Damn I always wanted to know some of these terms too. I barely know any of them. The only one I know is "lol" = laugh out loud.
    What the heck is "BTW"?

BTW, if you really want to see a ton of net slang in use, get in a chat room. Not just the clutchcity room, but a really hopping room, like the kind you find on Yahoo chat.

(Not that I have ever been there, but some of the best are in the Yahoo>Romance rooms!...or so I have been told [IMG] [IMG])

Im pretty good at figuring out the chat slang, but i've came across some that did not make any sense at all. CIAO is one that I have yet to figure out ...
when people use LOL, it annoys the hell out of me.
Screen Name: How are you doing? LOL
My Screen Name: Im doing good, and you?
    Screen Name: Im fine, LOL

Ugg, that is so annoying ... sounds like someone too a bit too much prozac or something

I don't think CIAO is an abbreviation. I think it just means goodbye.

    paige is right.

    It is in the dictionary.

It is pronounced (chou), or like the dog, chow.

Dang Rockets R' Us. If someone used that much slang talking to me, I would no longer talk to them. I wouldn't understand what the hell they were saying.
